A tale of woe, and a question . . .
Last week my boss said to me "we've installed DB2 Connect on this
Solaris box. Make it work."
Now, I've barely seen DB2 Connect on Windows, having fumbled thru one
install and config, with a lot of handholding from IBM Support. I'm
comfortable in unix but have never dealt with DB2 Connect there. (my
main job is as an Oracle DBA, and most of my db's are on Solaris or

So far, every book I have looks at on ASP.NET jumps right into creating a
project. There is no discussion about setting up the environment, using a
local IIS install (I think it can all be ran on XP now, right?) vs. having a
development server, etc. I will want to eventually maintain several websites
using ASP.NET and SQL Server and I have my own development box with W2003
server and IIS6 running.
Anybody got some good reference material...

1. Create a new Windows Application project.
2. Open the project properties and check "Make single instance application".
3. Build.
4. Go to the release folder and run the application.
5. Try to open a second instance of the application.
This will cause an unhandled exception and the "Send Error Report" box shows
up. Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just me?

Hi,
If I have a WCF web service deployed that uses the WSHttpBinding, is it
possible for a web service client to connect to my service if that client
does not support WS-Addressing, or is WS-Addressing mandatory when the
WSHttpBinding is in use?

I've got a WCF Service hosted in IIS running on a Win2k3 machine. The
service is built with Beta 2 of Orcas.
The service is configured for Message Security, using the UserNameToken
provider. Users are authenticated using the ASP.Net Membership provider, and

I am developing a WCF based app on Vista using IIS 7.0 but it will be

Thanks for the reply.
I looked at you solution. I tried using
Me.GetType.AssemblyQualifiedName but I get the qualified name of my
dll, not the application that is using the controls from the dll.
It would be ideal if there was a project property that my dll could
access at design time.

Here is my scenario for a problem I can't solve. I am hosting a 3.5 WCF
service in IIS on Windows Server 2003. The service works fine with the WCF
test client in Visual Studio 2008 and from an ASP.Net client hosted on my
development machine in VS2008. As soon as I deploy the ASP.net client to the
