hello again.
i'm now into using python instead of another language(s) for
describing structures of data, including names, structure,
type-checks, conversions, value-validations, metadata etc. And i have
things to offer, and to request.
And a lot of ideas, but who needs them....
here's an example (from type_struct.py):

XML-Schema: Attribute Value dependent rules?
As far as I can tell XML-Schema does not permit the sepcification of rules
that only apply if an attribute has a certain value. For example, in the
document below, attribute RemoteServer must be present and non-null if
attribute LocalMachine is false, but need not be present if it is true.
<Configuration>
<Registry LocalMachine="false" RemoteServer="\\SERVER1"
RootKey="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"...

Hello,
I would like to know why the W3C decided not to make the following
valid XHTML:
<input checked type="radio" name="foo" value="bar" />FooBar
forcing people to write the following to make the document comply:
<input checked="checked" type="radio" name="foo" value="bar" />FooBar

Group,
New to this list. I just found out that FireFox does not display the img
alt attribute the same way IE does. I use both browsers to verify that my
pages are readable. Dumb me for not reading all of the reference document.
With this is mind, I need a way to display text in a title attribute,
dynamically. I don't like the idea of going through 100+ pages and making
the changes every time a load new images. Is it possible to...

a non-native attribute to one of my elements. Does anyone know how to
do this? (Whithout rendering the schema to an XmlDocument to do it.)
Thanks!

Hi. I have a rather large xml document (object) that can have one or
more nodes with a certain attribute throughout (at ANY depth, not at
the same level necessarily). I need to find this attribute and remove
the containing node (and child nodes) if it has a certain value.
I'm able to find the attributes using an XmlTextReader. Once found,
can someone help me get the XPath at that point? I would then use
this to remove the node from...

I am using C# in Visual Studio 2003.
I would like to serialize a class that contains, amongst other things,
public delegate void DocumentsPreferencesChange(object env, Documents e);
public event DocumentsPreferencesChange OnDocumentsPreferencesChange;
However, as it stands, the classes containing any methods/delegates that have been added to OnDocumentsPreferencesChange also have to be serializable: this I do not want.
I do not actually...

Hi,
I'm serializing C# objects, only I'm creating attribute-normal XML
instead of (the default) element-normal XML.
For each item that gets serialized, I'm programmatically applying an
XMLAttributeAttribute, to cause each XML Element to, instead, be
serialized as an XML Attribute.
The only problem comes in where non-numeric properties, with null

Hello,
I am hoping this is a simple question with a straightforward solution.
I do not understand xsl much, so I apologize in advance if I am asking
a stupid question.
Is it possible to write an xsl that changes some attributes when
applied to an xml document, while preserving rest of it. Is it possible
to write this xsl independently of the structure of the xml document
itself, and only depend on the expression that identifies the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
