MapPoint OCX problem when VisualStudio 2008 (vs2008) is installed

Hi everyone, I've just installed VisualStudio 2008 on my dev PC. I use
this PC to compile a program that uses MapPointControl .ocx.

I've compile a new version of my program using VS 2005 after
installing VS2008. When I run this program in VisualStudion 2005, I
can see the MapPoint Map. When I run this program on a Windows XP
computer, it also works. When I run the program on Windows Vista, I
get an error from the .NET framework (2.0) saying there was an unknown
error.

Now, I know this problem is created when I compile.

The problem persist even when targeting x86 plateform.

Finally, when I tried to create a new project in VisualStudio 2008 and
adding MapPoint control to it, it never worked.

Has anyone else notice that kind of problems ?

I have an address form in Access 2003 that contains the usual address information such as AddressLine1, AddressLine2, City, State, etc... I would like to put a button on this form that feeds the address info into MapPoint, along with a fixed return address, and gets driving directions - or at least get a map of the destination. I have the MapPoint software, but have not used it. Will MapPoint provide driving directions, or just a map? ...

Hi, I hope this is the most relevant newsgroup for this post. I have a VB.NET app that uses the MapPoint component, and in my app I use pushpins to display/retrieve GPS locations. Occasionally, when I call: objMap.Distance(locNorthPole, locX) my code catches an exception that's raised, the exception is:

I have a solution consisting of a c# project as win application and a c++ project as classlibrary. Both are .net 2.0 The classlibrary handles some loading of quicktime movies, but that should not be relevant. Then I copy my exe and dll to the target system and when the featured...

Hi guys, On my work computer I had VisualStudio 2005, AJAX 1.0 and AJAX toolkit installed. 2 days ago I installed VisualStudio 2008 and every AJAX test that I do (IIS), does a postback. When I open my test web application using File System which uses the .NET server (http://localhost:4791/AjaxTest2/) it works. However, when I open my files by using IIS (http://localhost/AjaxTest2/), my application runs fine except it does a post back...

I was told that SqlServer express should get installed when VS2008Pro is installed (that is it is on the same DVD). I had a couple of errors during vs2008's installation and I don't see any signs of sqlserver. Is SqlServer Express suppose to get installed when VS2008 Pro is installed? Or should I download SqlServer and installed it that way?

Hello out there, I changed an existing and good working webservice from an wsHttpBinding to an NetTcpBinding. This is working (after trying some time) and has real a better performance! But one thing is strange: when I'm now actualising the web reference from within VS2008, VS2008 creates a 2nd endpoint config in my app.conf. The endpoint is exactly the same as the existing but the name and

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
