Revert changes in inherited form

SM
Hi,

#1

I did some changes in my inherited form (change some properties of my
components), now I want to rollback all changes made in inherited form and
return to the same state as the base form, I used to use Delphi and this
powerful and stable environment include nice functionally we just right
click and select "revert inherited" to rollback all changes and causes the
selected control to revert to its original state, is there any equivalent
functionality in VS 2005?

#2

I've also noticed that after I added new buttons in my base form, these
buttons are not visible in my inherited form even if I set modifiers
property to protected, but everything works fine in run time, is there any
workaround to get these buttons visible in my inherited from in design time
?

I'm using VS 2005 with C#

Thank you for your help

Hi, First, sorry for the crosspost, but it seemed appropriate... :) I've come accross what I consider to be a bug, but I don't know if it's already known or not. (VS .Net 2003 Pro - VB.Net) Whilst playing with inherited forms, I created a simple base form containing a single button. I set this buttons' Click event to be public overridable and put "me.Close" in the code.

I am getting strange resizing problems when using an inherited form. Controls are moving themselves seemingly randomly, but reproducibly. "frmBase" is my base class (a windows form), and contains a few controls anchored to the sides of the form. "frmChild" inherits from "frmBase"... and the controls appear on the inherited form as expected. However things start going wrong when I place addition controls on the "frmChild" form. When I...

Hi, I am strugling with a simple problem which I can't seem to resolve. I have an asp.net page which contains a server-control (flytreeview, which is a kind of a tree to be exact). The tree is being updated by some other process through remoting. When the page loads, I init the tree, and in my browser I can see the initialized tree. The problem is that every time that I receive update to tree from the remote process,

I've got a usercontrol derived from a normal ComboBox that contains some special formatting code. On my main form I've got a lot of my custom comboboxes. I discovered a bug in the derived control and fixed it. But it still doesn't work for the controls already added to the form. It works fine for new instances of the control dragged from the toolbox to the form. I don't want to have to drag and drop new controls to exchange all my old...

Hello everyone, My problem is with an inherited Form. The base Form has a few controls on it that are anchored such that they move as the Form is resized. While in the designer, the inherited Form works perfectly but when I run the program the controls on the inherited Form are positioned based on the size of the base Form instead of the inherited Form. The controls move approriately as the Form is resized but they are never in the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
