I have a camera system (Axis) which stores JPG via FTP 1-10fps. There
is also a motion jpg live stream.
I am trying to store these images either in JPG or in video format so
they can be reviewed at a later date. I would need to be able to pull
a date-time range from the list.
This means 86,400 - 2,160,000 images (around 110Kb a piece) per camera
a day, depending on speed 1fps - 10fps. There will probably be 1-5
cameras typically. ...

I have a script, which I've called test-loadpic.php and some pages
reference it by means of
<img src="test-loadpic.php?sourcepic=$picNum">
where $picNum stores a number. This part itself works fine.
test-loadpic.php uses the "sourcepic" GET variable to reference a file
on disk, get it's file/MIME type, transmit the headers and then the raw
image. The important code is below:

Hello there,
I am at my wit's end ! I have used the following script succesfully to
upload an image to my web space. But what I really want to be able to do is
to update an existing record in a table in MySQL with the path & filename to
the image.
I have successfully uploaded and performed an update query on the database,
but the problem I have is I cannot retain the primary key field in a
variable which is then used in a SQL update...

Hi,
I'm writing an app that downloads images. It rejects images that are
under a certain size - whithout downloading them completely. I've
implemented this using PIL, by downloading the first K and trying to
create a PIL image with it. PIL raises an exception because the file is
incomplete, but the image object is initialised with the image
dimensions, which is what I need. It actualy works well enough, but I'm
concerened about...

I am developing an application that possibly opens very large images - bmp,
jpeg, tiff. I have 2 questions:
Language: C#, VS .NET 2003.
1. When the program opens a BMP image, the amount of memory used seems to be
larger for BMP files than JPEGs with the same pixel dimensions. For example,
5200 x 5000 pixels image -- increase in Mem Usage is about 80MB for JPEG, but
200MB for BMP (with Task Manager). The Mem Usage is noted before and...

I have found a couple of sites that allow a visitor to upload an image
and the site returns either the "average color", or a palette of colors.
Several of them use PHP to accomplish this. I have requested the source
code, but have not gotten a response (even though one site states
"source code available on request"). It is obvious that they read the
colors of each pixel and them manipulate that data. I would like to be
able to do...

I'm reading a series of images from a MS SQL table and saving them to
directory. These are staff ID pictures from our security card app.
Once I've extracted the ID photo from the security app to disk, I need
to reference the disk file in our HR app. As part of the process, I'm
resizing the image and changing its resolution from 96 to 72 dpi. If
they are not at a 72 dpi resolution, the HR app freezes. The resizing
works without a hitch, but...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
