I'd like to purchase Visual C# .Net for learning purposes only since it's a
lot cheaper than Visual Studio (note that I'm a very experienced C++
developer). Can someone simply clarify the basic differences. Ok, Visual
Studio has C++, VB and J++ thrown in plus some extra bells and whistles (I
already have some minimal experience) but are both IDE's essentially the
same (including the same IDE support for creating forms, ADO.NET DataSets,...

Hi All
I wanted to deploy Access files and came to the conclusion that I'd need the Windows XP Developer software but was told that it was no longer available
I was instructed to get Visual Studio .Net 2003 Pro which was meant to come with the same tools needed to deploy royalty free access solutions
Now my problem is that I cannot find a way to do this and I cannot find the packaging wizard that I believe that I would need to do the job
I...

Created a simple Win32 application (using Visual Studio wizard)...
Am using Visual Studio (Enterprise Edition) 6.0, as well as Service
Pack 5.
At the start of 'WinMain' function, added the following two lines:
char* ptr = NULL;
*ptr = 'b';
Built the crashTestApp.exe in both Release and Debug configurations.

I'm trying to create a Visual Studio.NET Add-in. I'm using the wizard
provided by VS.NET. I have Visual Studio.NET Enterprise Architect
edition and I've selected New->Projects->Other Projects->Extensibility
Projects->Visual Studio.NET Add-in.
After walking through the wizard it appears I have an add-in skeleton.
In the OnConnection event handler I have:
---
Command command = commands.AddNamedCommand(addInInstance, "MyAddin1",

Shortly, the Visual C++ Tools Refresh will be available on the MSDN Visual
C++ devcenter. You will need to have installed the Visual Studio 2005 Beta
first. <http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc>
I have been talking about this a lot over the last two months. All of the
features that are missing in the compiler for Beta 1 are now available in
the tools refresh. These refreshes are builds out of live development branch
and thus are not...

Hi,
I've installed Visual Studio 2005 on Windows XP/Home Edition. I had to
modify some files in order to get IIS installed successfully.
The problem I am having is that in Visual Studio 2005, I needed to make a
reference to the SQL Adapter object (is this normal in 2005) however, after
referencing this object, it shows up in the toolbox as being disabled,
therefore I am unable to select it to run the SQL Data Adapter Wizard.

It seems to want to create ole db adapters and connections and
commands.
How do I make it use sql commands adapters and connections?
This wizard could save time, however would prefer it used sqlconnection

I hope that there is someone here that can help me. It's not directly
related to this group but maybe someone here can help me. I wanted to
deploy my Access database to another pc using the Access 2003 Developer
Extensions. Check the web and found out that it is part of Visual
Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System, which in turn is a free
add-on to Visual Studio 2005. Bought Visual Studio 2005 Pro. (Plenty
money right there)....

Introduction
This tutorial describes how to use Visual Studio to create a new C++ program, compile/run a program, resume work on an existing program and debug a program. It is aimed at the beginning CIS student who is struggling to get their programs working. I work in the computer lab at the college I'm attending and I see many students who don't know how to use the IDE for best results.
Visual Studio automatically creates a number of...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
