I migrated a VS 2003 add-in to VS 2005. The VS 2003 add-in is a COM
interface which must continue to be deployed as a COM server. I have
added the project output to the deployment package and I set the
Register property to vsdrpCOM.
If I look at the VS2005 MSI package generated with a viewer, I find the
the CLSID registry setting aren't in the package. Therefore, after
installation running the server fails.
The same deployment package...

Good Afternoon,
I need to distribute an application which includes the run time files for
Access 2002. I do have the Office XP Developer CD’s. The application itself
is written in VB 6 with an Access back-end. I have created a number of
reports in Access and I am starting them from the Visual Basic Front End.
However, I have a number of users who do not have a copy of Access which
means they will obviously need the run time files.

Hi,
I have just written (my first) VB.net app using MS Visual Basic 2005
Express Edition Beta. It is fairly simple, it reads some configuration
data from an XML file then opens a new window containing a WebBrowser
object.
This all works fine and I'm happy with my app so I want to 'publish' to
a setup file so that others can install it, but when I publish it a get
the following errors:

Hi,
I want to create an installation for my project (built using VB.Net 2003). I
have two components in the setup and user may install only one of them to
start with. I would like to give users the ability to run the setup again to
install the other component. I have built the setup using the Setup and
deployment project in VB.Net. But after installing, when I run the setup
again, the only options I have are 'Repair' and 'Remove'. I don't...

Hi,
We have developed a VSTO 2005 Excel application and we would like to
leverage ClickOnce deployment mechanism for distribution of this
application.
How can we do that? I was digging in MSDN for VSTO & ClickOnce documentation
and did not find anything. I've noticed that there is an option to
publish the project, but when I do that and then run the application from
Web it throws us security errors like:

Hi,
I am developing a windows application in VS.NET 2005. The application is
database driven and I need to deploy it on a client's pc. How should I go
about developing such an application. I remember I did something once long
back .. like including .mdf files into my project in the solution explorer of
VS 2005 and then used Click Once deployment tool ... to make sure that the
database and tables were created when the client installed my...

Sorry for the newbie question but I'm trying to learn Visual Studio. I've
got VS Express 2008 and I'm using visual basic. I'm trying to learn how to
deploy a program so I've written a very basic windows application (lets call
it TWinApp1) with just a couple of buttons and a text box. It is very
simple and runs fine in the debugger. Using TWinApp1 I'm trying to learn
how to create a setup program to install an application on a system....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
