Does WSE 2.0 support SOAP 1.2 services?

Everything I've tried suggests that, no, you can't use WSE 2.0 with a SOAP
1.2 service (or a client of a SOAP 1.2 service), but I haven't found a
definitive statement to this effect. Can anyone say for sure? (Yes, I know
that WSE 3.0 does work here, but not all of my customers will want to go
through that upgrade.)

Hi Mike,

AS for WSE 2.0, I'm afraid it does be unable to support SOAP 1.2 format
webservice message. Actually, the limitation is not due to WSE 2.0 but
caused by .NET framework 1.1/ASP.NET 1.1. WSE 2.0 is designed for
enhancing ASP.NET 1.1 webservice while ASP.NET 1.1 webservice only support
SOAP 1.1. And ASP.NET 2.0/WSE 3.0 is able to support SOAP 1.2

Sincerely,

Steven Cheng

I have a question regarding SOAP. A basic "Hello World" web service was written then requested from an IIS server via TELNET. When a malformed request was sent, a SOAP exception was returned, just as I would expect: What was sent: POST /helloworld/helloworld.asmx?op=HelloWorld HTTP/1.0 What was received:

I have been consuming a IBM Websphere (Java) web service using .Net 1.0 front end writen in VB.NET. The proxy class submits a soap request and gets a soap response. When I migrated the front-end to .NET1.1, the response from the web service appears as null in the proxy class. This only happens with .NET1.1, .NET1.0 is ok and works fine. I have played around with the System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapDocumentMethodAttribute, but no luck....

Hi, I have written a Web Service for a customer which expects a SOAP message with Document/Literal encoding, and uses RoutingStyle=SoapServiceRoutingStyle.RequestElement to route the SOAP body message to my Web Method. The Web Method expects a string as its parameter and then feeds that string to an XML deserializer which maps the XML elements contained within the string to my custom objects, then performs an insert/update on an SQL...

Hi, I need help signing SOAP/XML. Have been stuck with this for a couple of days now. I get the following error message from the server: "The security token could not be authenticated or authorized." I am probably doing something wrong in the signing process. I use a tool called "Exchanger XML Professional 3.2" for canonicalization and sending the message. OpenSSL for SHA-1 hashing, RSA signing and Base 64 encoding.

Hi, I have the wsdl below, for an Axis web service, and when I select Add Web Refernce in Visual Studio the proxy is missing a class representing the returnedElementsType (see reference.cs below the wsdl). This complex type is a collection of another complex type(elementType), and the Reference.cs has an array of these rather than the single returnedElementsType. If If I want to be able to obtain these elements from the SOAP response I...

I'm using Visual Studio 2005/C# to build a web client. The web server is something I've written in a different framework, which does not support generating wsdl, so I have hand-built a wsdl file, then created my proxy class by running wsdl.exe. The problem is that the SOAP message that the client generates contains an empty namespace for the parameters in my message, instead of the namespace I intended it to have. I am guessing it is...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
