wcf udp multicasting

Does any one have a simple wcf of udp multicating other than the one
posted here
http://wcf.netfx3.com/files/folders/...entry5235.aspx

I would like a program with just the basics not all of the
complications of the sample above.

Thanks
Nick

Nick,

There isn't going to be a simple way to do it. What you have found is a
transport channel that you can add to your stack to enable multicasting.
Also, it will have to be updated in order to work with the release (although
it should, if it targeted the release candidate).

I have two NIC in my laptop. The are connected to two different routers (Routers IP Address: 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1). NIC One (Wireless): 192.168.1.135/255.255.255.0 Gateway/DNS: 192.168.1.1 NIC Two: 192.168.2.100/255.255.255.0 Gateway/DNS: 192.168.2.1 This forms two different networks.

I have a question concerning developing a generic multicast subscriber. How do you go about determining a decent buffer size? Why does the Socket.(Begin)ReceiveFrom method require an instanciated buffer instead of requiring a stream or returning a correctly sized buffer? Aside from DOS attack conciderations, I guess, it seems to be a major limitation.

Hi all, I'm having problems with a udpclient with multicasting and then waiting for a response and if none arrives closes after a few seconds. I have the client multicasting fine but am having problems with timing the response window. Ay thoughts? Nick

Hi, I'm writing a server application which uses TCP sockets. In real time, there would be about 4000 clients connect to this server app. I need to broadcast a packet regularly to make sure all clients have up to date info. Can anyone suggest me how to broadcast a packet to all of the clients using TCP.

I posted this in the dotnet.framework group with no responce yet, maybe someone in these groups can point me in the right direction? Or maybe I need to use something already in .Net to get an IGMP multicast across firewalls? I need examples of .Net leveraging IGMP multicasting: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wcetcpip/html/cmconinternetgroupmanagementprotocoligmp.asp I would need a client & server...

Assume I have an n by n matrix of identical objects, each of which can both invoke and consume event A. If, say, obect invokes the event, the only other objects that need to consume it are those in row 1 and those in column 2. Sending the notification to other objects would be a waste of CPU. Is there an "approved" / efficient way to cause only those objects in row 1 and column 2 to receive the event notification? I've looked but just...

I need to set up a small client/server or, best solution, a peer-to-peer system to swap data strings between wide spread users. I've looked at IP multicasting and it seems like a reasonable solution. My questions are: 1. Is there a 100% peer-to-peer solution that can operate without a router/host on the Internet? 2. Is there any VB.Net 2003 or 2005 code examples (or even VB6 examples) for multicasting out there? 3. Is multicasting the...

Hi all, I am a relatively new programmer in C++...I need to write a code that performs multicasting as well as returns the data-packets in a decompressed form.Data-receipt seems to work fine....but decompression throws up an error... The following is my code: # include "StdAfx.h" #include <winsock2.h> #include <ws2tcpip.h>

I'm working on creating a multicasting project in C# ... I've got groups for different clients to be in, where they can only talk to each other, and understand the setup, but I'm having a problem that I can't find a solution to -- everyone who sends something gets it right back ( since I need the send/receive port to be the same within each group ). I'm trying to block the sender from receiving what they have just sent ( but continue to receive...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
