I have a website which has both secure and non-secure
pages. I want to uses forms authentication. How do I
accomplish this?
Originally I had my web.config file in the root with Forms
Authentication set up and it worked just fine. Then I
realized that I needed to have some pages unsecure.
I then created 2 directories. One named Secure and the
other named Public. I placed my web.config file in my

Hi there,
I had some doubts on creatings plugins.
As most example on the internet shows how to write plugins onto a plugin
host which is normally a windows form program.
1) Can i replace plugin host as class libraries instead of windows forms

Hi all,
I want to create an MDI app that allows reporting on XML data files
downloaded from the equipment that we manufacture, this MDI app will
have several default reports but due to the nature of the data different
people will want to see it in different ways.
What I would like to do is have several standard reports/graphing MDI
Children that come as standard, then allow the user to apply a plugin
that will allow them to view their...

Hello all,
I mailed our common hero and fellow newsgroupian Jon Skeet a question
regarding his article on plugins at
http://www.yoda.arachsys.com/csharp/plugin.html, and he suggested that I
should post here. I was afraid to spam the group further with my silly
questions, but I agree with his sentiment that this might benefit
others, so here we are.
My question regards the proper way to build the plugin projects. My host

Hello Everyone! Newbie here...
I can't configure any remote clients to connect to my DB2 server, I am
able to run and connect local from the server, but if I try to connect
with a user and specify password it fails with the dreaded SQL30082N. I
have checked all parameters, there is the servicename registered in
/etc/services the dbm cfg is set (pasted below). this is a Workgroup

I was quite surprised to find virtually nothing about this but I may
have been searching for the wrong thing.
I want to know the best way to provide a programming interface to a
plugin. I already have a plugin architecture that allows the
application to call code in a plugin but I want the plugin to also be
able to call code in the application.
I can think of many ways to do this but I am not sure the best way:

I have been able using the namespace System.Web.Mail and its method
Smtp.mail.send to mail simple text messages to a small group within
our 55 and older community. I need help expanding the programs
capabilities. Searching this forum I did not find any related
information so if I have chosen poorly, I would appreciate a
suggestion of a more appropriate dotnet forum.
Now what I wish is the ability to send bcc's rather than to: (would be...

I am now aware (I am primarily a C++ developer) that in C# if you reference
the same interface from the same file in two different projects the types
are actually incompatible.
I found this out because I have written a generic plugin system for my
current and future C# needs. I defined a base plugin system interface named
IPlugin (original, I know...) which contains some basic plugin infomration
all plugins of this system must expose...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
