select first item in a sorted listview

If I have an unsorted listview I know I can select the first Item by
ListView.Items[0].Selected = true. How do I select the first item in a sorted
listview?

Thanks.

I am able to populate a ListView with several detail lines (several columns). When finished, I would like to pre-select the first item in the list (before the user interacts with the list). This way, if a user clicks on the OK button, there will be a default selection. I know how to use ListView.SelectedItems to get the selection, I just don't know how to make an item be selected without the user actually clicking on a line. For a...

I select an item in a listView by code and it works fine (thanks to Morten Wennevik who tell me how to do it) but if the item is out of screen (there are a lot of items) I'd like to see it selected. Actually, the item is selected but I can't see because is out of screen. Thank you.

I need to locate an item in ListView, quickly. I have a listview with items, for each I added a unique "Tag" property. Is there a simple way to rapidly search through these items to find based on its Tag value? Tia, Stu

If you look at explorer, right clicking on a file, first selects the file, then throws up the context menu relating to that selection. With a Windows ListBox control and a simple context menu, the default behaviour seems to display the context menu on the listbox, but there is no selection. Now I know that explorer's using a listview, and that the context menu acts differently if you click on open space (no selection), but can I...

Hi folks, If I want to select the first item in a DropDownList, I need to first select any item other than the first item and then next I select the first item which will then fire an event saying that I clicked the first item. Why can't I just select the first item to get an event to fire without having to first select any other item. Thanks for any tips.

In a listview, I found it is pretty nice I can type a letter or more letter quickly to select the NEXT item which begin with that letter(s). But seems the first row, even not high lighted, always been select by default. So when I click the first items' first letter, it goes to next item starts with same letter. For example, I have

Hi, I'm using Visual C# 2005 (part of Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition), and I have the following problem: I populate a ListView object with several items, and at the end of this process I put a statement that orders the ListView by a certain column and in a certain order (ascending or descending, it doesn't matter). To do that, I have defined a derived class of the IComparer class (as explained in the Visual Studio MSDN Library)....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
