Force the users to update their "ClickOnce" application

To make your ClickOnce application updates mandatory. You can
configure your application for updates as outlined in the following
steps:

1. Click the Updates button on the Publish pane of the Project
Designer. This opens the Application Updates dialog box

2. Select The Application Should Check For Updates check box.
3.To choose when the application should check for updates, select
Before The Application Starts, or After the Application Starts.
4. To force an update, you can set the minimum required version and
match that with your Publish version.

I need to have multiple deployment profiles for a .net 2.0 winforms project. This is my requirement: 1) Re-use same project for multiple ClickOnce deployment profiles. 2) Each profile will have it's own custom deployment properties such as Publish Version Number, Start Menu and application Name in start menu. For example, in the past (before ClickOnce deployment) I had to build Setup.exe files and distribute them to various...

Hello Gurus, Is it possible to schedule a task to run an application deployed using ClickOnce? The executable changes location with each update.. and if i were to run the executable directly, it's not considered as a network deployed application and it's not able to use any of the update features programatically.. any ideas? workarounds? thank you,

Hi there, I'm very new to activex controls and c# programming. I'm writing a c# application and I want it to be invoked when my users click a button on a web page. Its an application with a GUI so the app would come up and be running independent of the web browser (i.e. not embeded in it). Also note, that this application is one that is already installed

ClickOnce almost does what I want. However, there are a couple of additional things I want to do with my application which I believe are a challenge with a ClickOnce application: 1. The application is one which is to be purchased by my website's users. So, before the application is installed, the user must purchase the application. 2. The user must accept a user license agreement before installing the application.

I'm having a problem displaying the version number of the ClickOnce deployment on my programs, but it's under odd conditions... I have a program which is distributed via ClickOnce to around 50 PC's. On a handful of these, the version number displays when it is run from the network. However, on most, it is blank. I have 2 labels. One that simply says "Version", and another that displays the actual number. Neither label is supposed to show...

Using VS2005, I am deploying a WinForm application with ClickOnce. The project contains a ReportViewer2005 control, so there is a prerequisite for the ReportViewer2005.dll. The ReportViewer.dll that is included with Visual Studio 2005 works fine on my (developer) pc, both within Visual Studio 2005, and after deployed, from my pc. However, this is not the case with the user's pcs. When they download the ReportViewer2005.dll from...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
