How to create own DataColumn Aggregate function

I want to create my own Aggregate function to be used in the
DataColumn.Expr ession property.

So for example,
DataColumn col = new DataColumn("foo ", typeof(String)) ;
col.Expression = "my_custom(Chil d.Test)";

Anyone done this before? Any suggestions on where to start?

thanks

Hi. Just as we have AVG(COLUMN_NAME) and MAX(COLUMN_NAME) how can I write my own variation of a such a function. If I can appreciate how to do this, then I hopefully I can write a MEDIAN(COLUMN_NAME) type function or a more general function like a 10% percentile function with syntax such as PERCENTILE(COLUMN_NAME,25). Regards JC......

In Microsoft's help literature, it states: "You can filter out non-unique rows by using the DISTINCT option of an aggregate function" I am trying to do this in Access 2003 with the COUNT aggregate function, but there is no reference, at least that I can find anywhere, of how to do this. I have multiple lines fields for which I would like to do a "count distinct", but for simplicity, I am showing an example of only one field. Here is...

I've read that the expression property for DataColumns is used to "Sets or retrieves the expresssion used to filter rows, calculate the values in a column, or create an aggregate column.". I have seen examples on how to filter a column, but how would I filter out an entire row depending on the value of a column? For example, if I wanted to filter out every row in a multi-column table where the "Is Fubar" column equals "true", how would...

Hello, I created a datalist in an ASP.Net / VB page. I display the image and price of a few products. When a user clicks an image I want to load the page "detail.aspx?number=id" and send the value of the "id" field of that record as a URL parameter. Can someone tell me how to do this.

just wasted a long time figuring out this and I figure if I post it might save someone some pain! Jet (DAO) will allow you to to use nested aggregate functions like building blocks, e.g.: SELECT A, sum(B) as Answer1, Answer1 * 2 as DoubleAnswer

Hi i have been struggeling with this question for quite some time now. I have some helper classes that handle images (upload an image, create thumbnails and show a imagelist), links (add link, edit link, show linklist), comments (add comment, show commentlist) etc. I do not need all this functionality on every page. Ideally I could just extend the controller like this

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
