Q: "Simple" tick problem.

Hi!

I need help with a solution.

I want a System.Timers.T imer to timeout everyday at 09:00.
I store the time in a string in a config file.

When the service is executed i stop the timer and execute the work.

After execution, i want to set the timer to be executed at 09.00 again.

Any hints tips, greatly appreciated.

Regards
Martin

Sounds like the Task Scheduler is better suited to this task.

What you describe is a scheduler. Is there any reason you cannot use
standard Windows Task Scheduler?

Hello all: I am attempting to use a database program that I downloaded from http://www.thescripts.com/serversidescripting/perl/tutorials/asimpledatabaseprogram/database.txt with good success. I have already modified it heavily with good results. I am however stuck on something that I feel should have been built into it, but for some reason wasn't. During the search routine of the script that searches the database for a match based on...

I wish to create two simple layouts by using only HTML, CSS and the minimum JavaScript as possible. Layouts should be "elastic" (no fixed widths and heights) and cross-browser enabled. The first one is a non-scrollable page which contains a centered title and a centered division with automatic scrolling on overflow, that is: +---------------------+ | TITLE | | +--------------++ |

Hello all, I am trying to write a "simple" animation using C#, and I've tried many things but nothing seems to work for me without leaking memory. Here's a very simple piece of code that uses a timer to set the image of a label from an ImageList every 100ms or so. This is what was being used when I inherited this piece of code, and I thought it was OK, until I changed the size of the label to do animation on a larger piece of screen...

Hello everyone, I'm really new to Javascript and was wondering if anyone could give me code for a nice looking drop down menu. Ideally it would do that little scrolly animation thingy when it drops down, you know, like a curtain coming down, but that's not too important. Also, I plan on using it for my blogger menu if that helps. Any advice or code would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, Can anyone explain the following (very) simple scenario. 1) I make an exact copy of my "DataSet" and delete one record from a given table (in the copy) 2) I invoke "DataSet.GetChanges()" on the above copy and pass the results to "DataSet.Merge()" on the original copy 3) If I now inspect the original copy, it shows that the record has *not* been deleted from the table. However, a call to "GetChanges()" does show my

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
