ListView - do not draw rectangle around selected items

I have a ListView in which I am attempting to get it to not draw the
'dotted' rectangle around items which are selected. All other drawing
should be normal. I am using the listbox in SmallIcon mode (has an icon +
label).

I've tried setting various properties, even overriding my own ListView
class, but I cannot seem to find the right combination. Any thoughts?

I'm using CustomDraw to draw my listview item but there seems to be some basic characteristics of the draw operation that Windows refuses to allow you to change. 1) I want to most the position of the label field. I know that I can technically draw it whereever I choose, but Windows handles mouse clicks different depending on where you click on the item. For example, you can begin editing a label using the mouse, but if I draw the label...

I have a requirement to put a GDI style circle or rectangle border around the selected row of a datagrid/ It will overlap into the row above and below the selected row. Doing this in a the OnPaint of a subclassed DataGridTextBoxColum dos not seem like a practical way to do it. I have subclassed a DataGrid and overridden the OnPaint as such:

I've tried working with the SelectedIndices and Items.Selected attributes to get the problem to go away, but not having any luck. Questions I have are: 1) How do you move (using code) the focus Rectangle when your Selected Index changes ? 2) If there are no selected rows, can that focus rectangle be removed? 3) What other quirks exist in this simple example I might need to code for ?

Using VB.NET I have a ListView with several columns. Two columns contain integer values, while the remaining contain string values. I am confused as to how I would provide functionality to sort columns based on the column header the user has clicked in both Ascending and Descending formats.

Hi ppl, My owner draw list box controls do not "refresh" old selected items when a new selection is made. This means that as you click to make selections, the previously selected items stay highlighted along with the new ones too. It draws correctly when I minimize the window and then maximise it again, but I just don't seem to be getting a "DrawItem" event for switching of an item from Selected to NotSelected! Any ideas??? Here is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
