Find (string)

Hello,
I want to implement "wild card" search by searching files with *name*
criteria.
What is the best way? Should I do foreach to all names or maybe there is
a better way?

The method "GetFiles" of a DirectoryInfo instance can take a search
string as parameter.

csharpula,

As often is there in this no best way.

If your search criteria is very complex than use the Regex.

If your string criteria is one character, then the indexOf

You know if there was a best way, all those possibilities where not created.

I posted this here one day ago but it seems like it hasn't been put up for some unknown reason. That gives me a chance to say things a bit better in this post. 1st of all let's desribe the problem: In ParamGenerate() I want to find all whitespaces before a certain point in one string. Thus I use the string::find() function. However it seems like this function ignores some whitespaces :/ This is really weird and I need your help. Okay...

The Python slice type has one method 'indices', and reportedly: This method takes a single integer argument /length/ and computes information about the extended slice that the slice object would describe if applied to a sequence of length items. It returns a tuple of three integers; respectively these are the /start/ and /stop/ indices and the /step/ or stride length of the slice. Missing or out-of-bounds indices are handled in a manner...

Hello again, I am still working on this homework assignment and have hit a wall. I have a list that I want to fill with all occurences of img tags from a big string of html code. So I have a string called str which holds the html code and I want to find the string str1 which would be <img and then write to the list an item that contains all the chars from <img through the > that closes the img tag.

Hello I was wondering which behaviour might be expected (or is required) for the following small program. I would expect that find( "a", string::npos ) would return string::npos but is seems to be dependant on which string is searched for. On my system, using gcc 4.1.2, I get: pos1=2 problem because pos1=0

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
