There are several things that you need to know.

First, there is a different group for VB.NET. It is
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb.

Second, you need to ask a specific question. What is it you want to
know about arrays, exactly? If you want someone to teach you about what
an array is and what it's used for, the Usenet is not the place. These
groups are for specific answers to specific questions. (Although, a
perfectly valid, specific question might be, "Can anyone tell me where
I can find tutorials or lessons on using arrays in VB.NET?" People will
then post links to on-line resources to help you.)

Third, please do not title your posts, "Hi, please help." Give them
titles that describe what you want to know, for example, "Need beginner
lessons on arrays in VB.NET". That way people who know about your
problem can read the message, and those who don't know about your
problem can ignore your message. People reading newsgroups tend to
ignore messages titled "Please help," or "Urgent!" or "I need an
answer!" on principle.

You will receive many more responses, and more helpful responses, if
you follow these guidelines.

Hi Bruce,

I assume that that explanation can be found somewhere on the web already -
it seems to occur frequently enough.

If anybody knows of a good link that would be really helpful so that people
such as Bruce don't have to waste their time :)

Hi Gabriel,

Thanks - but I was referring to the much larger portion of Bruce's response
that contained advice for posting on newsgroups. (But I see now how my
original response could have easily been misunderstood :)

I'm surprised Jon Skeet doesn't have one - or could I be wrong?

Nice article - exactly what I was looking for.

Have you considered appending guidance on titling threads and choosing when
to use a newsgroup in the first place?
