Quit Word application

private Interop.Word.Ap plication _mergeWordApp;

I tried to quit the Word application:

_mergeWordApp.A pplication.Quit (ref _notTrue, ref _newMissing, ref
_newMissing);

However, I got compilation warning -

Warning 25 Ambiguity between method
'Interop.Word._ Application.Qui t(ref object, ref object, ref object)' and
non-method 'Interop.Word.A pplicationEvent s4_Event.Quit'.
Using method group. C:\Development\ WordUnit.cs 668 39 WordFilesApp

What did I do incorrectly?

I create a new Access.Application instance. As soon as I refernce the property "References", I am unable to issue a truly successful quit on that instance. By that I mean the call to quit is fine but if you look in task manager, the instance is still running. Furthermore, if you opened a database using that instance, you will not be able to open it until you quit the entire application or until you kill that process. BTW, the process is...

In the Windows Task Manager Processes window MSACCESS.EXE shows up. - I don't do anything else in Access. - I click a toolbar button that executes the code: application.quit in a module in my Acesss project. - My Access project closes. Now there are TWO instances of MSACCESS.EXE showing up in the Windows Task Manager Processes window, my cursor is...

Greetings, I have an application which has recently gone from being one big piece of front-end code to being three, i.e. an mdb A that references an mda B and an mda C. (For what it's worth, in the interest of complete disclosure, mda B also references mda C). This application has always closed in the mvps time-honored method of calling Application.Quit on the Unload event of the switchboard.

Hello there, I am facing a strange problem. I use office converters for converting Microsoft Word documents to html in my application. I use office automation for the entire process. I open the Word file in invisible mode for conversion to html. But I face a problem after the conversion. The WinWord.exe does not quit. I use the following code for quitting. objWord.quit();

I'm working with Office Application objects in a client/server WinForm application which allows the user to access remotely stored files. When the user opens the remote file, it is downloaded to their machine, and it is opened in the appropriate Office app. I've hooked the various BeforeSave events to let me know if/when they've made modifications to the file, so I can mark it as dirty. However, I would like to know when the Office...

Just noticed something interesting in the above. If you have your program file set to "Compact on Close" in access 2007 (which is desirable when you have a larger program that frequently needs compacting), if you use the following code on an "Exit Application" type button, the compacting on close won't fire: Application.Quit acQuitSaveNone however, if you use:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
