Hi,
I'm trying to bind a custom collection class to a data grid, following the
guidelines from the article
http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/05/08/CollectionsandDataBinding/default.aspx.
The problem is the article is in VisualBasic. I already get the collection
to be recognized as a Data Source by the IDE. It populated the DataGrid
correctly from the fields on the items object of the collection, but I can't
get the DataGrid to...

Hi,
How do I make a property only modifiable by code and not design time. I
have a property that should only be modifieable by code and not design time,
What attribute should I use?
I tried but this gives me an compile error:
"Attribute 'DesignTimeVisible' is not valid on this declaration type. It is
valid on 'class, interface' declarations only."
Help is appreciated

Right now the only way to use a WinForms control in MFC is to enable COM
Interop for the control and use it in MFC as you would any ActiveX control.
While this works, COM Interop is a pain, and an ActiveX control isn't as
straight-forward as a CWnd-derived object. It also means that I have to
split my code into two projects. Going the other way (using MFC in
WinForms) is only possible by exposing MFC objects as ActiveX controls,
which...

I am very confused about the different ways of VC++ and
C# for doing windows form/dialog design in Visual
Studio.NET.
In C#, after you drag & drop the components to the form,
the underlying codes will be automatically modified to
add corresponding objects.
However, in VC++, in order to design any forms/dialogs,
resources must to be created first, then we need manually

Is there a way to capture click events in the form designer? I'm trying to
create a control similar to the TabControl (which seems to handle clicks in
design mode) and would like to be able to click on parts of the control in
design mode and have the control react, but I can't seem to trap the events
in design mode.

Hi,
I have moved an application from VS2003 to VS2005, and I am now unable
to view most of my forms in the designer.
The majority of the forms in my project are derived from class PACForm,
(which itself derives from System.Windows.Forms.Form)
Whenever I try to open on of these forms in the designer, I get an
error, stating it is unable to load one or more of the requested types.

Hi All, does anyone know how to add TabPages of ones own classes at design time ? ideally when adding a new TabControl it would
contain tab pages of my own classes, I know you can achieve this with ListView columns so it should be doable, thanks

Hello
i have made a custom control. i have placed a panel on it. I want this
panel to behave just like the normal panel. The problem i was having is
that the panel on my custom control doesnt accept other controls. The
control i drag drop on it becomes the child of my custom control's
parent form and not the child of my custom control. Then i added this
line
""
before my custom control class (i dont know what this line does). Now

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
