The Microsoft update page scans my computer which has
Windos XP Home Edition. The website recommends
installing both DirectX 9.0A end-user runtime and Managed
DirectX.
The problem is I have successfully installed DirectX 9.0A
end-user runtime after which the Microsoft update scan
comes up with Managed DirectX as a final update needed.
Managed DirectX fails to install. It gives a message

Hello everyone,
I'm starting with new endeavour of writing Windows-based application
in C# that will manipulate graphic elements in a certain manner (I
will describe it briefly bellow). Being a seasoned developer in
general, I don't have any experience with what I'm about to start
implementing. What I'm looking for is name of technologies (even list
o acronyms will be a great start), references to books or articles and

Are there 3d Games being built with C#?
I see several 3d Engines and a rework of OpenGL out there
but wonder if anyone is actually commercially developing games with
C# and OpenGL
Am new to C# comming from a C++ background -
am using Visual C# Programmer's Guide (excellent book).
Looked at DirectX - powerful but what a mess.

Hi to all,
I would just like to ask a simple question...
Could Managed DirectX 9 (SDK Summer 2004) be used in MVC++ 2003?
I ask this question coz, I get an error when using Managed DirectX in MVC++.
My routine is very basic, I tend to create a device object using managed
directX and im getting a compiler error:
error C3635:
'Microsoft.DirectX.PrivateImplementationDetails::IDirect3DDevice9': undefined

Hi there,
Has anyone any ideas if the next Framework will be an update to version
1.1 or another completely new install so that people have 3 Frameworks on
their system? And can VS.NET 2003 be set to use any Framework other than
1.1?
Nick.

Can the 3.5 version of .NET Framework (currently Beta 2) be installed on
pre-Vista machines? Or is it Vista-only?
And, why doesn't .NET Framework come pre-installed with the operating
system? I think one of the main reasons people will reject such software is
having to install something first. I understand it might need upgrading, but
why do Windows machines come without any .NET Framework (or am I wrong about
this)?
It seems that...

Hi all,
I want to make a 3d cube of lattice points. The user should be able to
rotate the cube-lattice around (via left-click-hold), and zoom in-out
of the lattice (via wheel).
The intended purpose of this is for a "mapping" tool, where the
lattice points represent "locations", and paths can be drawn between
them (sequences of edges).

First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
