Hi, First off, I'm just beginning .NET and GUI stuff and am very
inexperienced. I have worked through a number of GUI tuts in books but
all the GUI code to handle events for all the controls in these examples
is always in the single file of the main form. What is the correct way
to 'sub-divide' various GUI sections into differnet files? For instance,
with all my anticipated controls, this one file would be hundreds if not
thousands of...

Hi There!
I have a Server-side Drop-down box in ASP.NET (VB) page. What do I do to
widen the Drop down box's Pull-Down list's width?
I'm not talking about the Drop-down box's width but the box that appear when
user clicks the drop-down arrow button. Because items in the Drop down list
are a little long, user can't see the full thing when they pull down the
items from the drop down list.

Hello. I recently built an ASP.NET "financial" application. I got to the
point where I have a HTML template (a contract) which needs to be filled with
various data from the database. I put a "generate contract" button on my ASPX
page, but I totally lack ideas of how to put the data in the correct places
in the html file. I was recommended (actually "do like this" from my boss) to
enclose the variable name like this {variable_name} in the...

Every time during development we had to make table changes, we use Control
Center. Most of the time, Control Center fails. If you try to "undo all", it
doesn't, and you end up losing your identity seed, or your constraints, or
your triggers, or your table. Talking to developers at other companies who
have had the misfortune of using DB2, they are adamant that you cannot use
the tools; they are buggy and you just have to resign yourself to...

Hello:
We are working on a large number of forms. The original approach was
to use the built-in data designer, type-specific DataTables and form
binding. However, we are running into various issues due to the
complexity of our forms. For instance, how do you bind to a check box
with a data table, or a radio group?
Well, I have since started making business objects that wrap around
DataRows. The business objects simply provide...

Question 1: How do I turn off WCF security to get my apps out the door quickly?
Question 2: Where can I find a step by step article/flowchart how to
configure WCF security (the WCF books miss this point)?
Background:
I have a WCF client / WCF host pair running fine on the same machine.
Metadata is offered both via basicHttp and netTcp.
Services are offered via netTcp.
When distributing the WCF client on the intranet, everybody (my...

Thank you, again, Michael, for all your help many months ago.
I *FINALLY* got a HowTo done up; please see http://wiki.python.org/moin/HowTo/FileMagic
I've also emailed Mr. Hupp to see if he'll re-post the SWIG version;
he's working on a newer binding (forget... ctypes??) and once that
one's working... :)
But for now...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
