How to receive signal from USB Infrared Adapter

I have a USB Infrared receiver/transmiter. I am using Kingsun KS-959
USB Infrared adapter driver to communicate with my mobile phone. I'm
using Nokia PC Suite 6.0 to syncronise with my outlook. It works fine.
But I am planning to design a software to control my PC with a remot
control. So, I need to receive data transmited from my remote control
to the USB Infrared receiver.
IrDaClient class is available only in .Net compact framework. But I
needed similer class in .Net framework.
If anyone can suggest a way to read signal from my USB Infrared
receiver then that would solve my problem.

Thanks

Hello, Recently I made a program to control my Robosapien robot from my PC, via a third party infrared transceiver - Jon Rhee's USB UIRT (http://www.usbuirt.com). I'm building a server application which accepts socket connections and I ran into some problems. The socket is asynchronous and therefore uses the BeginXXX and EndXXX methods in the Socket class to receive data. I also use a ManualResetEvent to signal the main thread when data arrives. Here is the code I'm running: using System;

Hi, I want to send a file using infra-red to another device using my C# application. I've got a built-in infrared port on my laptop and wondered how I would go about programming such an application. Is this possible or would I need to obtain a stack implementation from somewhere? thanks.

Hi, I am looking at trying to capture infrared remote control signals and control my audio/video equipment with my computer. All via C#. Does anyone know of a few simple c# classes that could work with a standard USB infrared stick for example? I have found a few articles but nothing really concrete.

I want to know how I would go about reading signals from a Microsoft USB infrared receiver I have. It is a product designed for the Media Center Edition of Windows, but I am pretty sure it can read any infrared signals. Here's the product page: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=065 Ideally, I would start by reading the signals into a string and just messagebox them. I don't know if I should be...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
