I have a form that has a text box, i.e. text area that takes 200 characters
max. When I use my update script and it brings up the information in the
database, it displays as a single line. How can I keep the same format
of a box, instead of single line when viewing the database data for
updating?
This is how I'm calling the information into the box

How can I implement a Form which has a DataGrid
displaying data from MS Access/SQL Table
but instead of updating using the Data Grid I would like to be able to
bring up a Form for Data Entry as there are too many Columns for datagrid
Also this enables me to exclude columns the user should see as well as
implement lookup
from another table for some columns

I have a form with 10 numeric input fields (envision two rows and five
columns). There is a column at the right for a total of each of the
fields on each row. There is also a row with a calculation based on
the two input fields in each column.
When a record is retrieved, the calculated fields should automatically
display the results based on the values in each field. For several of
the calculated fields, this works perfectly. ...

I have a large html table and form, for displaying data and for updating the record data. To make this form look really good, i'm deciding to convert the html form into flash.
The page has one large table with smaller tables inside. Each of the smaller tables pull from one table in my database, and each one has its own update button and action page.
What i'm trying to do is change the layout using a flash form, and either each tab or...

I have public methods in a form. The main form calls them, to update
that form's display. This form is like a real-time view of data that
is changing.
But, the form may not exist (it is created / destroyed at user
request). I can check form != null to prevent incorrect access.
But, the form could disappear immediately after the check, before the
method is run. Or someone could click 'close' when it's in the middle
of an update. ...

Hi all,
I'm using a FileSystemWatcher to monitor a directory. I want the FSW
to pop up my already instantiated but invisible form.
However, I'm running into some problems with this.
1) In the FSW.Changed FileSystemEventhandler, I called the Show method
'frmMain.Show( )' on my form, the form appears but not completely
painted and it appears to be hanging with the hourglass.

I am handling as application built in MS Access, where user updates some information say for example expenses, and the expenses entered will be summed up for every transaction and that total will be shown in a sub form which is integrated in the main form.If...

I'm sure this is incredibly simple, I just haven't been able to find the magic search string for Google. :)
The basic question is: What VB function do I use to update the value of a text box each time the user goes to the next record?

In my database I have a field where they have stored 0's and 1's (or nothing) for whether or not a person has a certain job skill. The users of my form will not be updating this data, only looking at...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
