Hello wxPythoneers.
I have a problem with a dialog box derived from wxFrame which has a
wxComboBox as main element. Depending on the entry selected from the
ComboBox, the dialog box will be populated with a number of controls.
This works fine for the first selection of a combobox item, but

I want to set the Default value of a Combobox for any changeable record and have got this working but it is totaly unsatisfactory

I loop through the items in the Combo looking for a match between cVal and the selectedValue then stop when I do have a match
the obvious problem is that each iteration fires the selectedIndexChanged but also for a large list this will slow everything down.

After doing much searching and pinching bits of ideas from here there and
everywhere I came up with a fairly 'clean' solution of including a comboBox
into a dataGrid column.

pulls values from a database in it's dropdownlist fashion. my problem is
that when i pick a select on the combo box it doesn't stay on the cell
after selected almost as if the combobox is on top of the cell and after

When I click an item on the combobox-list , I would like to display (in
textfield) the value from an other column that is present in the table but
is not the ID-column that is connected to toe combobox.datavalue.
