Hi
I have a modem on my computer, and would like to log callerid from it,
I'm a complete novice at programming perl, but with reading the docs
I've managed to get to a stage using win32::serial module that I have
set the modem to recieve caller id, but I dont know how to just sit
and wait listening to the serial port, so I can process the data as it
arrives.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all,
I am having problem comunication with serial port in linux. I have
tested the serial port with attaching a serial modem and dialing the
numbers with wvdial. it works okie but when i connect HSM to the serial
port it sends the message but i did not get a reply. mean it always
being blocked in the read function. The same hsm is working fine in
unix. so there is no problem with hsm. I am using the code as given

Hi All,
Can anybody help me out that how to transfer files through serial modem under windows platform?
Scenario is that my serial to WLAN modem is connected to windows PC and I want to transfer files from PC to modem over serial cable.
Manually it can be done by Xmodem and I want to do it through perl script.
Can anybody help me out?

I've got an application that's written in C++ making use of MFC (VS6). Its purpose is to process SMS messages received from a GSM modem connected via a serial port (USB connection). The serial communications are handled entirely in their own thread.

I'm unable to communicate with an external modem through the serial
port of the docking station (named COM1). When I communicate with COM3
(internal modem) there aren't problem: I open the port , send AT and
receive OK. When I use COM1 I open the port , send AT and have no
answer. If then I open the port with hyperterminal I receive the
