Serial unable to connect to Modem

mm
Hi,

I have a modem connected to the serial port and I can communicate using
Windows HyperTerminal.

When I try to send a 'AT' command using the SerialPort object I get receive
timeout errors.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have developed a similar problem in the last two weeks I believe. I can't
connect modem to modem. I notice that as soon as I hit CONNECT the properties
change from 7-even-1 to 8-N-1. I have changed every default and individual
setting I can find but it always changes back. Could this be related to your
problem? I wonder if it is something that has been changed with an automatic
update?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all, I've got an application that's written in C++ making use of MFC (VS6). Its purpose is to process SMS messages received from a GSM modem connected via a serial port (USB connection). The serial communications are handled entirely in their own thread. For the most part this works perfectly. However, there appears to be a problem where multiple instances of the application are running in different Windows XP environments. It seems...

I'm unable to communicate with an external modem through the serial port of the docking station (named COM1). When I communicate with COM3 (internal modem) there aren't problem: I open the port , send AT and receive OK. When I use COM1 I open the port , send AT and have no answer. If then I open the port with hyperterminal I receive the response (OK): that means the write command works, but seams the reading buffer that .net use remain...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
