COMException 0x80072029 : received when accessing Domino via DirectoryServic es

I'm using System.Director yServices to access a Domino LDAP server.
When I get a failed authentication, I usually see this:
System.Runtime. InteropServices .COMException 0x8007052E: "Logon failure:
unknown user name or bad password.\r\n".

Suddenly, I'm seeing this: System.Runtime. InteropServices .COMException
0x80072029: "Inappropri ate authentication" SOMETIMES when I'm testing
with an invalid password. Anyone have an idea why. I've searched for
0x80072029 but found nothing at all.

This one should be relatively simple, though I have yet to figure it out. I have an ASP.NET project which uses LDAP authentication to login to the system. When run on our Development or Staging servers, the authentication works great! When running the project on my local computer under \\localhost, I get the following error: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8002801C): Error accessing the OLE registry at...

Well, the problem I'am having now applies to web applications only. Therefore, I believe it has something to do with security settings. Here's the code: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim child As System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry ' dirEntry is a DirectoryEntry component that points to

Hi all, I've read many times some threads with this problem but no answer is simple and good enough. Here's my situation:I've developed a web application with query LDAP which from System.Environment.UserName gets Name,Department, and so on. It works fine if I access the site with http://localhost/Site, but if I use http://Server/Site it gives me the following error: System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.Bind(Boolean throwIfFail) +610

Hi, I'm in the process of updating an ASP.NET v1.1 web app to v2. The app uses ActiveDirectory a great deal, and I'm trying to use the new System.Collections.Generic namespace where possible, having been advised by several luminaries that that is a "good thing to do"... :-) However, I'm experiencing a problem with the IEnumerable interface. (N.B. I understand fully that I should be using the LDAP provider instead of the WinNT provider...

Hi, I am trying to obtain the column number of the parent of a cell, if the cell is a linked cell (i.e. its value depends on another cells value). I try to read "Precedents"(parent cells) of a "Range"(selection of a single cell in this case) for each cell in my table to access parents of the linked cells.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
