Custom ToolStrip item in Designer

I have created some custom ToolStrip items using ToolStripContro lHost.
I can not get them to show up in the designer. I have added the
ToolStripItemDe signerAvailabli lity attribute, but it makes no
difference. What more do I need to do?

Thanks,
Mike

I am trying to make a custom user control that gets a list of users from our database and populates the list, its an owner drawn control also, the problem is, I placed the item onto a form and every time i make a change to the control it reads the database and adds new items to the listing but never gets rid of the old items in the list, the form seems to be makeing a stored copy of the items locally then rebuilding the list ontop of it......

I have a custom-built datagrid for windows forms. I overrode the scrollbars in it because I wanted to draw my own (basically, they're skinned). As a result, I handle all scroll events and calls. I also have a row-selector column as the first column, and that needs to stay visible. Think Excel. However, if a user clicks a cell that is all the way to the right and goes off the grid a bit, then the entire grid shifts, including my...

Hello everyone, I have created a custom component and one of its properties is a class object with it's own properties. During runtime, I can assign values to the class object properties just fine. However, when attempting to assing default values as designtime in the propertygrid, nothing is working on the class object. I know that I am doing it wrong, any ideas what it is? Thanks in advance

The default ToolStrip apparently renders an MS Office Style ToolStrip when the RenderMode is other than "System". When using a BackgroundImage in the ToolStrip, this Office Style border has rounded corners and looks like hell. According to the Help file: To change the Microsoft Office–style borders to straight Override...

Hi I'm trying to create a composite control to be used on a ToolStrip, consisting of a ToolStripComboBox and a ToolStripButton. It's going to be a control used to search for text in a grid control on a WinForm. I've got it working fine on a single form but now want to reuse this functionality on other forms. Usually this would be a simple matter of creating a UserControl, however a ToolStripComboBox cannot be placed on a UserControl.

Hello, I have no idea how this is happening. I have a TabControl on the form, and in one of the tabs I have a ToolStrip with a few buttons and Grid. Every now and then I look and the ToolStrip has disappeared, when I bring it up in the Properties Editor the Visible value is False.

Hi, I have widely used ToolStrip in my application. I created a UserControl which contains this ToolStrip. I would rather like to use inheritance: MyCustomControl : ToolStrip Everything seems to work fine, untill I want to set visibility to one of ToolStripItem - there are maybe 20 buttons and not all of my ChildForms which contains this MyCustomControl need all of them. I open in designer mode in Property window "Items", choose right...

Ok, I have a menuStrip and a toolStrip. the menuStrip is laid out like this: Actions Connect Disconnect - Exit Pretty simple. The toolstrip has 1 item, a toolstripstatus. I decided I wanted to add a little icon next to the status text, so I opened up the image property in Design mode and imported 2 images. Both were PNG images and were 256x256 resolution. I decided that I wanted to use smaller versions since it was, after...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
