Hi, I am adding a security layer to a company intranet, which is
written in classic ASP. The company have said they do not want to pay
for re-writing the site, and I have managed to get Forms authentication
working by changing the .htm pages to a .aspx extension. However, the
site includes a sitemap, admin section and quiz that are created using
..asp pages. When I click the link to these pages, the site returns an
error:
The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot
be displayed.
I assume this is because it is trying to load an .asp page, is there
any way around this without having to re-write the pages?

If I remember correctly, one of the original goals of ASP.NET was to be
compatable with code written in ASP.
You should be able to convert easily, and then address any specific
issues that crop up.
Things you should look out for are the use of COM components in pages.
If you do, then you will want to set your AspCompat attribute on the page
directive to true.

Thanks, it doesn't use any COM components, however the site just doesnt
recognise the .asp page when you click a link to browse to it. It
brings up the error 'this type of resource cannot be served.'

I'm not sure what exactly is happening but I can say this, classic asp
pages are not loading on my local dev box. They use to work! Since
then I have installed .NET 1.1 Studio (that is working, and so is ASPX
pages), installed .NET 2.0 Studio (this never worked, it broke
everything, ended up reinstalling 1.1 Studio, and now I am back to ASPX
pages ver 1.1 serving up nicely). However!!! Now I can not run classic
asp pages.

Hello. I believe I've read somewhere that classic .asp pages will still
operate correctly with no problems with the .NET 1.1 framework installed on
a Windows 2000 Server server. Does anyone know if the same classic .asp
pages will work on the .NET 2.0 framework with no problems? I was going to
start moving towards the .NET technology but since VS 2005 just recently

runs fine with a small number of users, but once there is any traffic
the CPU spikes at 100%. I went through and made many updates to plug
various memory leaks. Glad that I did that and it probably helped out

I've built an ASP.NET web application which exists as it's own URL. Another
site which was created in classic ASP, and exists as it's own URL, has an
IFRAME containing my site.
I'm experiencing a problem with the height of the IFRAME when the ASP.NET
