I'm working on the 0.8 release of my 'rex' module, and would appreciate feedback, suggestions, and criticism as I work towards finalizing the API and feature sets. rex is a module intended to make regular expressions easier to create and use (and in my experience as a regular expression user, it makes them MUCH easier to create and use.) I'm still working on formal documentation, and in any case, such documentation isn't necessarily the...

I have sub-classed the Page class in order to provide some base properties and methods that every page on my site will need access to. I would like to have these things show up in the Simple Binding window of the DataBindings dialog. I then found this site (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vsintro7/html/vxurfDataBindingsDialogBox.asp) which says: The tree view displays these objects: the Page object; any...

When I first built a few web pages in ASP .Net 2.0, I thought it was great. The formview and detailview contorls would automatically layout the controls for you, the update methods were automatically generated, and the objectdatasource let you design against a business object through the gui. Now I am working on my first real web application on 2.0, and I find this automatic functionality doesn't do much beyond allowing me to generate...

I have two databinding expressions (the first & last names from a DB) that I want to assign to the text property of a Label so that the result is LASTNAME,FIRSTNAME. At the moment, I have the following which I know works when I use it by itself: text='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container,"DataItem.membernames.lname") %>' What I need to do is somehow concatenate this databinding expression, a comma, and another databinding expression for the...

Ive got the basic idea behind DataBinding Expressions, but I have a couple of questions, Ok its four actually :) Q1.) It would appear that if you use Page.DataBind that all child controls and the page get bound to their respective DataSources, is this correct ? and if so why would you need to individually bind controls, why not jsut use Page.DataBind everytime?, Im sure there is a good reason why not but I cant think of one at the...

Hello, I have a problem to use databinding with my business layer classes. My data class does not have simple properties (string, int or datetime), instead, all my properties are objects of the generic type Field<T> (see sample code). public class Employee { public Field<stringForename

I have a Repeater that uses a DataSource that has multiple fields. When the values of these fields is displayed in the Repeater, there are fields that are used in combination with other fields as well as by themselves. For example, there may be a firstname field that is used in combination with a lastname field as well as by itself. Using it by itself is simple, I have done that many times. However, is there a way to use multiple fields in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
