I have made a small interop function that uses Acrobat Distiller.
It works smothly on all the XP machines, but when I try to run it on a
Windows 2000,I get this error:
System.Exceptio n: Cannot create ActiveX component.
at Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion.CreateObjec t(String ProgId, String
ServerName)
at MediaBuilder.Ut ils.PDFCreator. PDFCreator.Main (String[] args) in C:
\Visual Studio Projects\Utilit ies\PDFCreator\ Main.cs:line 31
And line 31 looks like this:
objDist = (ACRODISTXLib.P dfDistiller)
Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion.CreateObjec t
("PdfDistiller. PdfDistiller"," ");
What is the difference between running this under XP and 2000?
The odd thing is, that I can compile it with out errors on the 2000, it is
just when I run it, I get this error.
Could it be because of the call/use of
Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion.CreateObjec t, that should work W2KSP4.
I have also tried DCOM configuration
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q183607), but even with even with this, I
still get the error.
