Cannot create ActiveX object (on Windows 2000)

I have made a small interop function that uses Acrobat Distiller.

It works smothly on all the XP machines, but when I try to run it on a
Windows 2000,I get this error:

System.Exceptio n: Cannot create ActiveX component.
at Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion.CreateObjec t(String ProgId, String
ServerName)
at MediaBuilder.Ut ils.PDFCreator. PDFCreator.Main (String[] args) in C:
\Visual Studio Projects\Utilit ies\PDFCreator\ Main.cs:line 31

And line 31 looks like this:

objDist = (ACRODISTXLib.P dfDistiller)
Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion.CreateObjec t
("PdfDistiller. PdfDistiller"," ");

What is the difference between running this under XP and 2000?

The odd thing is, that I can compile it with out errors on the 2000, it is
just when I run it, I get this error.

Could it be because of the call/use of
Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion.CreateObjec t, that should work W2KSP4.

I have also tried DCOM configuration
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q183607), but even with even with this, I
still get the error.

Has anyone run into this problem? An ASP page creates a command object that calls a stored procedure. This was working one day; next, it stopped. I am not in control of the various patches that get applied to this machine, so yes, it is possible that new MS code was applied to it. The error is a 429, 'Cannot create ActiveX Component'. I can get the code to work if I turn on the IE option 'Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked...

Hello: We have an ActiveX DLL that we created in C++. We are calling it from vbscript at the top of an .asp page using the "CreateObject" command. The asp page interacts with the ActiveX DLL in various ways on the page. This has been working fine under Windows XP, but now we have a client who is wanting to move the client-side asp web page to the Windows 2003 server. They want for non-administrator users to be able to access their server over...

The idea...
