Registry key for merge modules

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine if the Crytstal reports
merge modules have been installed by looking at the registry or some
other means?

Hello travisj,

the problem is that merge module could exist on the system, even installed
but some dlls could be registred wrong.
The best approach is to try to create some object to check that the merge
moduled is really and *correctly* installed

tDoes anyone know if there is a way to determine if the Crytstal
treports merge modules have been installed by looking at the registry
tor some other means?

I've just installed the new wxPython, version 2.4.2.4 (under Windows NT, sp6, python 2.3.2) and tried to create an exe using the McMillan installer. Seems to be a new problem ... I've got the 5b5 version of the McMillan installer. It crashes around line 161 of its mf.py module, where it is analyzing my program and pulling information out of the Windows registry. It looks in HKLM\Software\Python\PythonCore\2.3\Modules\wxPython

I have a database that has a form that opens a report using date parameters. I have been using it for six months and last week I began to get the following Error Message: "File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry." I checked in the Tools - Options - Advance. I have the database shared with no locks selected and record level locking selected.

I'm trying to use the MSDE Merge Modules with my vb .net application. Following the instructions on http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp? url=/library/en-us/distsql/distsql_8yeq.asp At the bottom it states I need to edit to msi file to set the database properties. However, I used Orta as suggested to edit the msi file and none of the external properties exist. Do I have to create them or should they be there? If so why might...

I have an application that was originally built using Visual Studio 2003 that I upgraded to Visual Studio 2005. When I attempt to build the *.msi file in the deployment project, I am getting a compile error stating that it cannot find: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules\Crystal_regwiz2003.msm" I am not sure where to get this file or even if it is appropriate (i.e., should there be a newer version for Visual Studio 2005).

Hi, I developed an application that uses Crystal Reports in visual studio 2005 then ported the whole application to VS2008. My original setup/deployment application (created within visual studio) for this project included files CrystalReportsRedist2005_x86.msm, microsoft_vc80_atl_x86.msm and policy_8_0_Microsoft_vc80_atl_x86.msm all situated in c:\program files\common files\merge modules directory. My ported application still uses dotnet...

Hi, I have MS Visual Studio 2008 both Pro and Dev Team Edition SP1 installed. I've compiled a managed C++ .DLL which automatically had a manifest embedded, with the following dependency: "Microsoft.VC90.CRT" "9.0.21022.8" "x86". I created an MSI package with the following merge modules: "Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules\Microsoft_VC90_CRT_x86.msm" and "policy_9_0_Microsoft_VC90_CRT_x86.msm".

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
