Dear all,
I'm dealing with a very tricky problem and can't seem to find the
answer with google. the problem is: i want to store huge data
(binaries) inside a mysql databases blob - to later store those data to
a file somewhere else (from where i can connect the database).
problem comes into play, when I try to output a "progress" of the
reading of this data (kind of "xx bytes of XXX bytes already
transmitted").

I have a large amount of data I'm dropping into a dataset and would
like to find a way to at the very least show the user that the program
is working at retrieving the data and not locked up.
I have been unable to find a way to do this with a progress bar so I
thought that I would try to disply a message with an animated gif, but
I cannot get the gif to animate while the dataset is being filled
which is not doing me any good.
Any...

Hi,
does anyone know if it is possible to get progress when adding a
DirectoryEntry.SchemaFilter? I am adding one to extract the computer names
on a Server 2003 box and would like to show a progress bar or similar, as
this seems to take a number of seconds to complete (5-10)
thanks

Hello,
I've got a fairly typical request to show a "Plese Wait" page while a
long process is running. In this case, the user fills out a form,
presses the button, a process searches for items, and in about 6
seconds it is returned.
I've read up on the normal ways of doing this with a new Thread() or
with a META tag to refresh the page, but it seems most of these
methods use Session. We're not using Session at all in our web

Hi all ,
As we run the .NET exe, first of all it loads
all the necessary system dlls and user dlls at load
time and then displays the main form of the application.
But in between loading these dlls and displaying the
main form , it takes some good amount of time.
So I want to display progress bar in between.
is it possible?

Hello,
I have a problem with my progress bar, as shown in the attached
code, the values on the bar are incremented within a threaded timer event.
The timer works fine and ticks all the way through. However when you Add a
new status bar to the form with a Progress bar and then immediately perform
some intense programming that uses a lot of processor resources, the bars in
the progress bar are not displayed, even though the timer appears to...

In my main sub routine I have code similar to this
Form.Show
Call File_Routine
The file routine searches for a configuration file, needed by the program.
If the configuration file is not found then the file routine continues to search for certain files so that there paths can be stored in a newly created configuration file. While the program searches for the files, I am trying to display progress messages to the user.
The problems...

Currently using LogParser 2.2 via C# (VS2005 with .NET Framework 2.0) to
search for specific errors in very large IISW3C logs. Program is functioning
as intended but the size of the logs causes very long processing times and
since all results are being written to CSV, there is no visual indication of
progress whatsoever. I searched the www and am not having luck finding any
advice on how to add a progress indicator for LogParser. Thanks...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
