Aero graphics card?

Not exactly a C# question, but one that C# experts can answer-- sorry if I'm
off topic.

We're going to upgrade a development machine to Vista when it comes out, and
I'm getting ready to install Beta 2 on an idle machine with an AGP slot. The
machine qualifies for everything except Aero glass. Can anyone recommend a
graphics card (preferebly with dual analog out) that will support Aero Glass
in Vista Beta 2? Thanks much.

FWIW, I got a PNY NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 card ($35 at Buy.com). It displays
Aero Glass without problems.

Perhaps, there is no bigger sleazy company in the entire Maple Republic ( Canada ) than Matrox Graphics Inc. I paid $100+ through my nose circa 1999 for Matrox Millenium II and Mystique. It works well under NT4.0 however, a month ago I upgraded to Win 98. Guess what? The main feature in the Matrox Inc Video cards was their desktop, and

Using: VS 2003 NET C# for Framework and Framework Compact Trying : Moving a Card (Bitmap) as in Solitare (PC + WinCe) Version on OnMouseMove Problem : The affected drawing Area by Invalidate (or Invalidate(Rectangle)) flickers in a nasty way when repainting. This does not happen in the Solitare (PC + WinCe) Versions a well as in a Card game where I have the C++ Source. The use of an empty OnPaintBackground brings no visable results.

Could someone explain how this works. I think the graphics card is used to do blitting and drawing shapes like rectangles. How does it draw using the Graphics card on the PC and why is this feature left out of GDI+?. *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com ***

Hello, I want to make a cards game. The only problem is now to add the cards in the form. I want to add bitmaps (that part is working), but also delete those bitmaps (1 at a time) by clicking on it. Anyone knows which component or classes to use for this ?

I installed Vista Ultimate (oem) on mij old 80 GB hdd. I had lots of problems (continues errors and bleu screens) and finaly I discovered that my hdd was broken or not up to date. So, I got a new hdd (the best I could afford: Western Digital, wdc wd1500ahfd-00RAR1 sata) But...after re-instaling windows vista ultimate on the new drive, I discoverd to my dismay that the aero-glass theme was gone, and I can't find it anywhere on my system! I am now trying to host a WPF control into a MFC application and get the Aero glass look on the WPF control. (Something like what Office2007 is doing to its ribbon) What should be the container of the WPF control so that I can get Aero Glass look? I tried with a System.Windows.Window, I got the Aero Glass look. But it seems that a Window must be the root element and can not be hosted in the MFC window. I also tried to use a...

Hi everyone. We're trying to diplay a message on the screen, and we want it to be always there, regardless of whether a new application is run, which may occupy that portion of the screen. Put another way, I want a text (or other types of graphics) to be always visible, even if a fullscreen game is run. We realized that we need to write some data directly to the system (or Graphics Card) memory, but the question is how we can access...

Hello, I would like to find out the name of the graphics card of the machine my program is running on. I have looked into the pyopengl module, and using them to query the card, but it seems like there ought to be a simpler way to find this out without setting up a glcontext. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Benjamin

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
