Hi Ng !
I'm a little confused because of my application.
I need to access a file in the path C:\Temp\test.tx t on a computer in
the same network. Now I just know the IP address of this PC. Is it
possible to access the file with just using the IP address ?
Thanks

Let's suppose you know admin credentials for the machine with IP ( that u know ).
Then there can be following scenarios:
- you access that file via \\IPAddress\C$\ Temp\test.txt
- remote computer has network share with access to the necessary folder, accees-
\\IPAddress\Sha reName\text.txt or \\IPAddress\Sha reName\Test\tex t.txt
- or that remote host with IP, has software that will provide access to that file ( web server, FTP etc )

I have an additional question. Is it possible to connect in a way like
the 'net use' command line command ?

I have compiled some code, some written by me, some compiled from
various sources online, and basically i've got a very simple flat file
photo gallery. An upload form, to upload the photos and give them a
caption, storing the caption and filename in a text file. It's a bit
buggy when removing the photos and captions from the file, and also in
displaying them on the delete page. you can see it in action at

Greetings,
I'm wondering why the >> operator does not use the write() method of a
class derived from the built-in file class as in DerivedFile below.
In the following example:
- StringFile is just a file-like string accumulation class that can be
used in place of a real file to accumulate strings that would otherwise
be printed. Works fine, can accumulate strings with the >> operator,

Hi,
I have program, which opens file at the startup and logs error
messages to the file, file handle is closed at the end of the program.
However if file is deleted in-between, program do not report any error
while writing to the open file handle. On Windows, file shows-up again
in explorer and automatically deleted finally when program ends. On
Unix, same thing happens if file is on nfs mounted drive, but in this
case, actual file is...

Hey all -
I need a little more help. I don't quite know why my text file or form isn't
closing.
Short version - this program takes data entered into a textbox, user clicks
Save button, Save As dialog box pops open, user selects file to save to,
data *should* save to the file, file close, form close.
The way I have it written so far, the data *does* save to the file, however,

Hi,
I don't have a code to show you, what I need are references or
algorithms so that I'm in a right track.
By the way, thanks for introducing me the array or arrays. Now I can
continue my script.
Now I want to delete a line from a file. Line being the strings I
got/saved to/from array of arrays.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
