Creating a TextBox Control

Hi

I want an approach(Proced ures - steps - logic) on creating a textbox
control. In detail, how should i go for the Painting , handling the key
inputs for that control....

I dont want to implement all of the textbox functioalities. But a good
start for that will help me in proceeding furthur....
