Approximately once a month, a client of ours sends us a bunch of
comma-delimited text files which I have to clean up and then import
into their MS SQL database. All last week, I was using a Cold Fusion
script to upload the cleaned up files and then import the records they
contained into the database, though obviously, the process took
friggin' forever, and could have been done 500x quicker had I done it
directly on the server. My SQL...

I want to provide users a page where they can browse entries in a database
10 at a time, for example. I am doing this as a table, where each row is a
database entry. I want to be able to give the user the ability to modify
entries. By either clicking on a link or a button on each row, I want the
user to be sent to another page to edit that entry.
What is the best way to track which entry the user is wanting to edit?
Thanks for...

I've had a user delete one of the client records, I do have a version of
the DB with all records intact before the deletion occured.
Whats the best approach to getting all the related records in each of
the tables? I have about 12 tables to put data back into and multiple
records for each. Would I need to make an append or update query for each
table?

What is the best way to handle data in a multiple user environment? We
have forms that will allow users to add edit and delete data from a
table on SQL server. The data could be edited on multiple machines at
the same time. How do you keep the dataset constantly updated with
changes made to the data? I'm playing with just calling the fill method,
but it seems pretty unstable at times. Especially when deleting records,
they don't seem to...

I have a form where the user may see a matrix of data in a grid (populated
via a dataset). If the user wishes to add a new row of data, they click a
button and a new form opens where the user may enter data into each
textbox, then click the add button when finished. At this point a stored
procedure is run which inserts the new row into the database (not the
dataset), given that the row is not a duplicate and the contents of each
text...

I got three related datagrid views one parent and two children of the same.
The two child tables contain many thousands of records and some of the
contents are bitmap files in a sql server database. The default behaviour of
loading all the contents of the parent data table and also all the related
data is not acceptable, its takes too long to complete. What I need to do
IMHO, is to load the parent table and after its loaded, and it gets...

Hello,
Ok so what I've got going on is a form that is populated by pulling
info from database then using php do{} to create elements in form. I
have a text box in each table row for the user to enter input. I need
to take this user input and put it back into the database. What would
be the best method to do this. I can't use a normal post because the
name of the text box is the same for each table row. I've heard that
posting the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
