Application run correctly in a server with Visual Studio but not run in web server

Hi,

I developed a web application that run complete (all the functions) in a
server with Visual Studio .NET 2003, but not run complete in a web
server with .NET framework (both versions) and without Visual Studio.

The web application call a "first" dll build that call a "second"
interop dll and only execute the first steps.

Here is the code of the web application in C#:

#region 1

Apx.aApx ox = new Apx.aApx();
bool res1 = ox.Init();
bool res2 = ox.Port();
short res3 = ox.Login();

#endregion

The application execute correctly the first 3 instructions, but execute
only part of the fourth instruction.

Here is the code of Login() in VB.NET:

Public Function Login() As Short
Dim lEstado As Boolean
Dim aux_body As String
Dim Body As String
Dim count1 As DateTime
Dim count2 As DateTime
Dim delta As Integer
Dim APP As New Interop.APPLib. Aplication

Login = 0

With APP.Session()

.Host = "192.170.10 .12"
.Port = "1020"

count1 = System.DateTime .Now
lStatus = .Log(0) '<-----------HERE
count2 = System.DateTime .Now
delta = DateDiff("s", count1, count2)

End Function

The application run until line marked with "HERE" and never return to
the initial call. The "Interop.APPLib .dll" is the other application.

I tried a lot of things in both servers but I couldn't detect the
problem. Somebody have any idea of the solution ??

Thanks.
Kurtz

I have a user who is trying to get started with Visual Studio.NET 2003. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the Product.... then we did a complete cleanout of development products, re-installed IIS, and reinstalled JUST Visual Studio.NET 2003 with Framework 1.1 (no more 2002 edition or...

Tom, It sounds to me like ASP, not ASP.NET is handling the request for WebForm1.aspx. This is most likely an IIS config issue that may have been caused by order of installation or reinstallation, or possibly even something that happened in IIS before .NET was installed. Here is a way to prove or disprove my theory:

I am experiencing problems with building ASP.NET application from a command line. The problem is caused by the fact the Web application is hosted in different virtual directories on different developers' machines. I have no problem to set it up and build using Visual Studio IDE (then it seems that it is correctly using .webinfo file), but when I start the build from a command line, Visual Studio always use Web application URL from the...

I'm running XP Pro/SP2 + patches and updates, with Visual Studio Professional 2008 (and no prior installation of Visual Studio ever installed). When attempting to open an ASP.NET Web application project, Visual Studio shuts down immediately and with no error message. I can open Visual Studio - but when subsequently attempting to open the project, Visual Studio immediately shuts down. More specifically:

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
