Hi all,
Can someone please reasure me that it is entirely possible to use the Data
Access Application in large applications - even those that require
transactions?
I have a friend who is adament that the application block is crap because it
uses static methods. He thinks that because its using static methods it is
completely riddled with concurrency holes.

Hi All,
I'm basically just trying to get started with the Exception Management
Application Block and am having some technical difficulties. All I
want to do to begin with is create a simple Windows Application (which
I have done and named "ExceptionManagementTester") and within it
create and use a custom publisher.
The Exception Management Tester Solution contains ONE project with

I have found people with similar errors using the
ConfigurationManagement application block, but those solutions don't
seem to do anything...basically, just trying to read in a
configuration xml file using this application block, and getting the
same error over and over no matter what.
Here is my setup:
app.config file:

Hi all,
I have a question regarding the configuration in the MS
provided UI Process Application Block.
I have a feeling that the UI application block itself has
the session state (task) management designed as a
fundamental part of the block. Is there anyway for me to
actually turn the sessionState in web.config to
mode="Off" to turn off the sessionState in the UI
Processing Application block?. The reason why I want to

Can somebody either post or put up a link that uses the Updater Application
Block? I apparently am doing something wrong and can't figure it out.
I call updater.BeginDownload with my manifests, it downloads the manifests,
I activate the manifests and the programs don't get updated.
The stuff that is done on the MS pages about the application block are of no
help because they list all the events for an asynch download but not what to
do...

Would like to know how to make this work for a user not logged in as
Administrator.
We can get this to work when the client computer has an Administrator logged
in.
Would appreciate a pointer on how to do this correctly.
regards

Hi!
I consider using the Logging Application Block, Enterprise Library, Jan
2006 in a major project. To date, I've found that some of its features
are not very well documented.
One important thing is logging to a database. I tried configuring a
database trace listener in the "Enterprise Library Configuration".
There I'm stuck. Stored procedures? Which ones exactly? What parameters
do they take? I'm pretty confused. It also seems it...

How do I integrating ASP.NET Tracing with the Enterprise Library Logging
Application Block?
I guess this should be possible and in a similar way to the way ASP.NET
Tracing is integrated with System.Diagnostics Tracing as described in
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/b0ectfxd(VS.80).aspx. But I would
have thought this is something most ASP developers using the Logging
Application Block would want to do and therefore I expected to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
