problem when opening a form

Hi,
I can't begin to understand this one. I have a form with a tabcontrol.
When I first enter one of the pages (whether by tabbing or opening the form),
I say to focus on a button. It does focus on that button but you wouldn't
know it by looking at it (the dotted rectangle isn't there). I noticed that
when the Tab key was pressed, the focused button will highlight, so when
opening the form, I focused on the button next to the one I want focused and
did a SendKeys.Send Tab. This works if the current tab page is the one in
focus (I have another screen on that same tabpage where I can press an Exit
button to return to the original screen), but it refuses to work when I tab
into the page from another or open the form. I'm completely out of ideas
around this problem. Anyone know what I could do?
Thanks so much!!!
Mel

Greetings. I have a problem with a combo box incorrectly displaying blank items when returning to a form from a modal form. It's fine when the main form first comes up, but gets messed up when the main form is reactivated following opening and closing a modal form. Strangely, this was not a problem until I started using my Access 2000 db in Access 2003 (as an Access 2000 db). Details follow... I have an unbound combo box on my main form...

For some reason, when I click the X to close my MDI parent form, the action appears to be re-directed to one of the MDI child forms, and the parent remains open. I am then unable to close the application. What should happen, is that the main MDI form should close, taking the child forms with it. There is code to loop through the child forms, remove the controls on each of them, and then close the form, but this code should execute only...

Hello, I am trying to build a simple php form based shopping cart using a cookie with arrays. I need to use 1 cookie because each order will have over 20 items. With that said, I realize I need to serialize the data to put the array into the cookie. That part of my code is working just fine and displaying fine. The problem I’m having is when I try to unserialize and display; the data does not appear. If I remove my unserialize command line (see...

The unexpected problem is this - say, 2 pcs called A and B, both running my Access program, both arranged in a FE/BE arrangement. There is an unbound form in the program. When the form opens all the fields are populated with the required data from the required record. When the form is closed every field is saved back to the relevant record, whether it changed or not. I now realise this is wrong - eg on machine A a name field changes from...

Hey, I am having a problem with opening some forms. I have several forms. The forms are based off the same table, tblClient. Each form has a sbf inserted into it. These sbf’s are each based off its own query. These queries are all based off the same table tblAnswers. The queries limit the questions for each form. So for example form 1 has questions 101-125; form 2 has questions 126-150. tblAnswers is created from an append query,...

I've read several posts on this problem, since it's happening to me right now. Can't seem to get rid of this. Using A2K2 on a large XP network. PC front ends linked to a backend on a shared folder on server. Things worked great for a while (couple of months), and then last month I suddenly lost the ability to make changes to forms or code, getting the exclusive access warning. This happens even when no one is on the backend through...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
