I downloaded the PHP 5 source code from
www.php.net web site. It is a tar compressed
file. I used WinZip to unzip it. Now I got a whole
bunch of files.
But I do not know to read these files. Do I use
Visual Studio, or any other IDE tools? Or do I
must use a text editor to open each file individually
to view it?

Hello, all.
I found a bit of code that lets me read an Excel file from and to a specifi
range. See the code below. But what if I only want to specify the STARTING
position and simply want it to continue reading down the column until it
hits an empty cell?
Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!
Here is the range-only code:

Platform: Linux Red Hat RHEL 3 (and red hat 9)
Installed MySQL from source. As a matter of fact, installed all LAMPS
from source, and the mysql socket file was arranged in a place other
than /tmp/mysql.sock. Let's say, /opt/mysql_root/sock/mysql.sock.
Installed DBI without any problem.
In /etc/my.cnf there are lines as

I consider myself quite proficient in C and a few other programming
languages, but I have never succeeded in understanding a largish
program (such as zsh or ncurses) at the source level. Basically,
I quickly become disoriented, losing sight of the forest for the
trees.
What's your approach for understanding a large program at the source
level? By "understanding a program" I mean more than just figuring
out where to zero in to make a...

sbConn.Append(";Extended Properties=");
sbConn.Append(Convert.ToChar(34));

I just had the problem occur again, with NetworkStream.Write() doing
its thing with a timeout... and it just sits and waits and waits and
waits... it never times outs. So, I shut the server down just to see
if THAT will make it at least end the function call and continue
(since it's a synchronous call, so the program is delayed until it
returns), and even THAT doesn't make the call end. It just sits and
waits...
Even IF I have a bug...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
