Mono Configuration Problems (WebService related)

When trying to run the sample web services of the mono distribution
(file /opt/mono-1.1.10/lib/xsp/test/1.1/webservice/TestService.asm x), I
get the following error message in my web browser:

Compilation Error
Description: Error compiling a resource required to service this
request. Review your source file and modify it to fix this error.

Error message: (0,0) : error CS0006: Cannot find assembly `System.Data'
(0,0) : error CS0006: Cannot find assembly `System.Web' (0,0) : error
CS0006: Cannot find assembly `System.Web.Ser vices' (0,0) : error
CS0006: Cannot find assembly `System.Drawing '

File name:
/opt/mono-1.1.10/lib/xsp/test/1.1/webservice/TestService.asm x

Is there any way to specify some kind of PATH/CLASSPATH variable ?

Is anyone here using Mono at all? And if you are - are you using it on Linux? And if you answer yes to either, then I would like to discuss the design of a ncurses language binding I'm developing :) I have a couple of approaches in mind - and I just need someone who is a little familiar with linux, mono, and ncurses to bounce them off of :) -- Tom Shelton MVP

We have an application converted from v1.1 Framework to v2.0. The executable references a class library which in turn has a web reference. The web reference 'URL Behavior' is set to dynamic. We added an entry to the executable's .exe.config file to specify the URL, and under the 1.1 framework this worked well. Unfortunately, this is not working under the 2.0 framework. I see in the Reference.cs file under the web service reference the...

I took some time to write this HOWTO: http://sparcs.kaist.ac.kr/~tinuviel/fepy/howto/simplehttpserver-ironpython-mono-howto.html IronPython seems to get much less interest than it deserves. This howto shows how to setup IronPython to use with Mono on Linux and how to rebuild IronPython from source. It also discusses various patches to current problems. It also shows that IronPython can run SimpleHTTPServer today, not a trivial...

Hello, I am receiving this error when trying to instantiate a webservice component. I have 2 development machines, both are XP sp2 with VS 2008 installed. On one machine, the code works fine. On the other machine I get the error upon instantiating the service client. I add the reference by choosing Add Service Reference from the project menu, and pointing to the remote wsdl file. I can't seem to find what the difference between the two...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
