Hi, I've posted this question on several forum but have no response. So I
hope anyone who have any idea what I'm talking about please give your
solution or advice.
My problem is I need to check the internet connection and pop-up a Dial-Up
dialog when there isn't any?
I've tried the following:
Dim myReq As HttpWebRequest

We are developing an application that will use a modem to dial and connect to
another modem sending it commands that would then be executed on a remote
system. I have searched all over and I cannot find a way to accomplish this
from within a VB.Net application. Does anybody have any ideas on how to
accomplish this?
The steps involved would be:
1. Dial phone number using local modem to connect to the remote modem
2. Receive...

I am using a dial up connection to the Internet and to an online SQL
Server database.
I have a problem in that when I use Enterprise Manager to access even
my local server , or even, it appears, when it is just open with no
connection to any SQL Server, I experience very slow data transfer
over my normal dial up connection.
I am reasonably sure it is Enterprise Manager causing the problem as
when I close it and redial I have an...

How can I quit a smartdevice application ?
After I click the right-hand(up) "X" button in the Pocket
PC 2002 Emulator,it seems that the smartdevice
application has not been closed.
(My smartdevice app has three forms.
Every form has a "X" button which is close to
the time information.)
Why? what happened when I click the button?

How do i connect to the internet in a c# using a dialup connection (already
created) rather than using a lan connection (w2hich is currently does by
default) ?
I'm using HttpWebRequsts to do the sending and receiving of data, but it
always uses the lan connection and doesnt try to dial out etc..

Hi!
Is it possible to start a dial-up connection that is already created on the
computer thru VB.NET, and then after it has dialed up get an idication of
that there's a connection ( I guess ping some server?) and then send a mail
and close the conenction?
I really need some pointers in where to start to look for this!
best regards

This is driving me nuts. I call the InternetDial API to open a dial-up
connection and it just returns 0 (success) without actually making a
call. Am I missing something really simple? I've tried disabling the
lan connection, but all to no avail. Thanks.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
