I want to use the IFilter interface. For that I am using the method STDAPI LoadIFilter(WCHAR const * pwcsPath, IUnknown * pUnkOuter, void ** ppIUnk); and this is working fine if the file extension of the passed file is known. Otherwise the null filter is returned what I don´t want. Files with unknown extension should use the default plain text filter.

First, my question: Should I use Write or BeginWrite (sync or async) to stream data to my clients. Details: On the server I have a custom circular data buffer that receives byte array data representing data structures at a rate of 30ms. On a thread seperate from that which Enqueues data to the buffer I have a high performance timer that Dequeues data from the custom buffer and sends it via a tcpClient connection to the client. The...

I have an app that writes to a custom event log (which is created at install time with a custom installer DLL). My app writes just fine to this custom log when running on Windows 2000 Server but when I try to run it on Windows 2003 Server I get "Access denied" errors. I'm using impersonation in my app and if I log in with a user account that is in the "Domain Admins" groups it will work on 2003 as well.

I needed to import large CSV files into Access, when requested by a command in a .Net interface. Because Access does not have a bulk insert command, and I already have vba macros in Access that do the import, I simply called the vba macro from .Net using COM. Each time a csv file is successfully imported, I would like to raise a custom event in Access that the .Net interface can handle.

Hello, I've started using Enterprise Library 2.0 recently and I've encountered a problem that seems to be ... well... undocumented :) Basically, when I set a Trace Listener (formatted event log to be precise), if i specify the name of a custom event log, the listener won't log in it. I've checked in the registry, the log is there. In the event viewer, I

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
