yep. a more complete example would be:

using System;
using System.Threadin g;

class Class1 {

[STAThread]
static void Main(string[] args) {

DateTime then = DateTime.Now;
Thread.Sleep(50 0);
DateTime now = DateTime.Now;

TimeSpan ts = now - then;
Console.WriteLi ne(ts.Milliseco nds);

}
}

Hi In VB6 we used the following to create a unique random number - Function longSerial() As Long longSerial = Val((Format$(Int(Rnd * 424) - 212)) + Format$((Timer * 100), "0000000")) longSerial = longSerial Xor Int(2147483647 * Rnd)

Howdy, I have looked and don't see a straight forward way to calculate time differences in milliseconds. What I am wanting to do is benchmark or time how long things take. So I want to record the time ... do something ... record the time and see how long the "do something" took. Am I just being hairbrained here and its right in front of me or what?

I am using VS 2005 Beta - C# Problem: The Timer fires a few milliseconds before the actual Due-Time Let's say a timer is created in the following manner: System.Threading.Timer m_timer = null; Let's declare a constant Int32 m_TimePeriod = 10000;

I need to test a performance of some code of mine. I tried using the Environment.TickCount but its resolution is too low (from the MSDN remarks: The resolution of the TickCount property cannot be less than 500 milliseconds.), I also tried the DateTime and it also gives me minimum resolution of 500 milliseconds. But I need to measure much less the 500 milliseconds, I need it to be several milliseconds. How can I do that? --------

I'd like to compare two datetime values in milliseconds. The datetime.compare method appears to show only seconds. Milliseconds of a datetime are available as a property of each datetime, but I am assuming there is an easier way than comparing the milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc, individually to generate the difference. Thanks in advance. Mark

Hi all I have a theory for a lotto system and need help on how to code it. I want to create 1 massive database with EVERY combination of numbers possible in a given lotto system, then remove all the numbers in a sequence. For example, in Australia our lotto system has 45 balls and you need to pick 6 numbers to win the jackpot.

I have a control uses the date and time, including milliseconds. I want to be able to enter this information as an attribute in the *.aspx page. Because all attributes are entered as strings in the *.aspx page, I need a recognizable date/time string that includes the date and time, including milliseconds. Can somebody tell me the best format to do this in? Thanks. (NOTE: The date/time data is coming from a databound field from an SQL...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
