Help on delegates in dynamically built datagrid

I have a web page with a control (Control#A) on it. The control (#A)
has a control (Control#B) on it which displays an exception message
when set and displayed. I am creating a simple datagrid dynamically
with delegates and assigning it to a placeholder on control #A. If,
within a delegate of the dynamically built datagrid, I set a property
on control #B, it sets fine but fails to reflect this on the displayed
page. There is no exception but the control (#B) fails to display the
new value set in the delegate of the dynamically built datagrid.

I have spent all day on this, trying various different ways to find out
whats going on but still cannot pin point why the problem. It looks
like I am setting a different instance of control #B but unsure how to
sort this out. I have set control #B from page_load and it sets and
displays the new values fine, its just when I set the values from
inside of the datagrids delegates that fails to display the new values.

Any ideas?

Regards

Billy

I need some advice on how to acheive the desired result of my custom page link generation. The datagrid 'built-in' page navigation only allows either the 'Prev/Next' or the page numbers. (Prev/Next on top and pg numbers on bottom is not an option) Therefore I am attempting to create my own custom navigation where I am very close except for the rendering of the page number links after clicking on one of them. In other words, Initial page...

Question for all: Would one consider this a loophole in .net with respect to nested (inner) classes? 1) Create outer class Foo and create a nested class Yin (inside Foo's class definition ofcourse). 2) Let Foo have non-static protected (or public) method Bar() and Yin have a non-static method called Yang(). 4) Add a member object to Foo of Class Yin called yinObj.

I am desperately trying to figure out the following problem, simplified for discussion. I have a WinForm with a button, textbox, and datagrid. When I click the button, I want to execute the method defined in the textbox, which must return a dataset, and pass this dataset to the datasource of my datagrid. Delegates and/or Reflection seem to be the natural way to accomplish this. My "Data tier" resides in another assembly which is...

I need to create a datagrid dynamically and add a hyperlink onto one of the columns. So the user sees that columns value and can click on it. But the hyperlink sends a value from another column (which is hidden in the datagrid). Whats the best way to do this?

I wasn't sure if I could do this. I believe I am stretching the capability of what generics can do for me but here goes. I have a generic delegate defined as public delegate bool RuleDelegate<T>(T item); In my class my goal is to use a generic list collection to contain my generic delegates. This will allow me to pass this List to another library and call this list of functions. This could provide a new way to build rule base...

I'm studying the book "Microsoft Visual Basic.NET Language Reference" and I would like some clarify the difference between events and delegates. On page 156 I see a WinForms example of timer that uses the "WithEvents" and events. There is another example on page 124 that shows how to use delegates to sort an array. I don't understand the difference between events and delegates. Are they redundant features? How do I decide which to use? ...

I've been led to believe by several articles, particularly Eric Gunnerson's C# Calling Code Dynamically, that calling a method dynamically through Reflection was much slower than through a Delegate. My testing showed that actually it was six times faster: 0.5 seconds for 100,000 iterations versus 3.1 seconds. Can anyone explain why? Something in the way I coded it? I'd appreciate any insights. Here's the code (in a Windows Form...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
