Is there some Microsoft website or ftp server that I can point my
installer to to download dotnetfx. Pointing user to the Windows update
page is not an option, I would like my application to install the .NET
framework seamlessly and silently without asking the user to do
anything other than agreeing to the license. Is this possible?

Hi All!
I am kinda confused with deploying a dotnetfx & MDAC together with my .NET
applications.
I was reading the "Redistributing the .NET Framework" on MSDN
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnnetdep/h
tml/redistdeploy1_1.asp) and it says there that I need to create the
settings.ini for the dotnetfx to launch.

For my purposes, a simple /run=MyApp.exe, so in my distribution cd I could
include the dotnetfx.exe, myapp.exe, have autorun.inf start something like
"dotnetfx.exe /run=MyApp.exe" which simply kicks off MyApp.exe if .NET
framework is already installed, else installs .NET framework, then kicks off
MyApp.exe.
I'm writing a simple MFC app to do roughly that, but it would be nice if it
were in dotnetfx.exe.
Thanks to those that replied...

hi,
i need to deploy MDAC_typ.exe and dotnetfx.exe with an app.
i do NOT want the user to have to exit the app's setup and have to run these
2 programs on their own.
i would like to have my deployment (using the deployment package that comes
with net 2003) to
figure out during its normal run, if it needs to install MDAC_typ.exe and/or

OK, VC# Express does not have the project deployment option.
So, if I want to distribute my app, I included dotnetfx.exe.
I tried to execute this using a program butr this didn't work so I just tried
executing dotnetfx.
The program chugs away for a while and then fails with error 25007, something to
do with initializing fusion (whatever that means).

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
