I'm looking to try to get a users MAC and/or NetBIOS name when they visit
my website. It somehow can be done, I'm not sure with PHP, but it can be
done.
Does anyone have any idea how?
As an example check out:
http://stealthtests.lockdowncorp.com/
On that site, there are tests that will display NetBIOS & MAC addresses.

Using ASP.NET (or classic ASP) is there a way to capture the NETBIOS name of
the server that a page was run on?
Currently we have email based error reports which get sent to us from our
web sites. We have hundreds of websites on half a dozen servers. Sometimes
the same website is load balanced across multiple servers so figuring out
the "origin" of an error can be a challenging.

Hi, I am writing a client/server application that has quite complex
messages that can only reasonably be handled by parsing serialized
message class objects using a networkstream and binaryformatter. when
the message objects are less than the MTU (1500b) then message is
correctly deserialized at the recieving end. when the message exceeds
1500b the packet is completely dropped and only 1byte is received at
the other end. Ethereal confirms...

Hi,
As part of an application I'd like to capture Icmpv6 packets thrown
when an application is not listening on a given port. I.e. I send a
packet to another host on a port and listen for Icmp destination
unreachable, port unreachable messages. While this method works for
Icmpv4 on C# it doesn't for Icmpv6. ( I'm using .net 2.0) I also know
that this packet is been sent by the other host as I can view the
Icmpv6 packet via Ethereal. ( It...

Hi!
I'm trying to write a program that can tell if a remote computer is
running Windows or not. The thing is, it have to go very fast, so I
don't want to "connect" to the computer.
My plan is to send a netbios request and if I get a response I know
it's probably a Windows machine.
The problem is that I can't use the Netbios function in NETAPI32.DLL,

Hi,
I am using TcpClient to connect to a device which does not talk
NetBios. The TcpClient tries first to do something with Netbios. This
probably failes on a timeout and then TcpClient sets up the TCP
connection. Due to this it takes about 5 secons to set up a TCP
connection on a LAN.
Is it possible to disable the NetBios request ? I have rewritten the
program with sockets but also sockets try to

Could whoever is responsible for the gateway that is grabbing
my postings off of Usenet and e-mailing them out please fix the
headers in the mail messages so that I don't get the bounce
messages?
While you're at it, might as well fix it for everybody else
too. ;)
Its a bit rude to send out mass e-mail messages with headers
faked up so that the bounce messages go to somebody else.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
