I'm porting an old Coldfusion based content and asset management system to
ASP.NET (and oh, how good it feels to write REAL code again - was a C++ hack
for 10 years, started doing coldfusion about 4 years ago - moving to .NET at

I have noticed that the Directory.Move removes the session as soon as the
next Response.Redirect is done. It also appears that .Net framework
constantly monitors all the directories below the root and invalidates the
inproc session. Can this be caught as an exception and ignored.
In the meantime, I have figured out a variant of Directory.Move that seems
to solve this problem.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem I have no idea why it happens.
I have an ASP.NET application that has around 7 forms.
To move from one form to another I use "redirect".
I also use around 12 Session items that I fill with different values
like for ex.: Session.item("EmployeeName")="LILIA"
98% of the time everything is OK.
However once "in a blue moon" I find that the value in
Session.item("EmployeeName") is lost.

Problem :
I have a Web Server which is session enabled. I have a method within that
server which if I call it repeatedly, it seems to forget the session every
six re-tries, and all the data therein. Is there, perhaps, a time-out
setting somewhere (one of the myriad) that I may have missed (although I
have run this sometimes, gone for a cup of tea, and return, done a re-run
and it has remembered the session data).

I've got a rather strange issue occuring.
I used forms based .NET authentication, although I'm also setting some
session variables when people login.
However, I've found when people use one of my webform pages which includes a
button that pops up a window where you can upload files, if you upload files
in this popup window, it seems to somehow clear out all of the session

I have a problem with my asp code on an iis 6.0 server on windows 2003
web. When I redirect between to asp pages on my web-site, where pageA is
in a different virtual directory from pageB the session variables value
a lost. I know that it is the session ID there increases. (New session).
If I make the same call in the same virtual directory the session

Hi I have a web application vs2005 and it looks like a condition is causing
session veriables to be lost. This does not seem to be happening too often.
The web application allows uploading and deleting files on the server, but
not in the bin directory. I am not sure if this is related. Any idea what
might be causing this and how to fix it?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
