I'm trying to install python2.3.1 on an SCO-box.
After running ./configure --prefix=/usrdir/rogere
the output of make shows (among others:)

There doesn't seem to be a build or msbuild specific group, so I hope
this is a suitable place to ask.
If msbuild is run from a command prompt directly on a colution
containing C++ project files like this:
msbuild mysolution.sln /target:mytarget
Then the console output contains nicely colour-coded warning and error
output plus build summary.
However, I have automated the build of a large multi-solution project

Is there any way to disable either the generation or the warnings from the
XML Document generator? I have a couple of public enums which it is saying
need the documentation and to add it would make the code hard to read (the
enum values are pretty self explanatory.)
TIA - Jeff.

Hi!
For reasons that it would be long to explain, I need to use
the option /QIfist in VC2005. This gives me the following
warning whenever I compile:
cl : Command line warning D9035 : option 'QIfist' has been
deprecated and will be removed in a future release
I "think" I really got it now, and it's quite annoying to be
treated like an idiot by the compiler. Thus, is there any way

Hi there!
I have just migrated from VS 2003 to VS 2005 and are getting lots of
compile warnings when building my solution. Some of them I want to
disable.
I have managed to do this with my other projects (not web) by selecting
the project in the project explorerer and right click and choose
properties. Here I choose the compile tab and can select what warnings
to disable.

Hi,
I'm trying to find the best way to work with compiler warnings. I'd
like to remove *all* warnings from the code, and playing around with
the warning level, I've noticed that compiling with /W3 I get warnings
that with /W4 are shown as remarks, e.g.:
warning #177: variable "Foo" was declared but never referenced
....is displayed as a "remark #177" with /W4. That doesn't fit the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
