Hi,
(VS2003/c# - System.Windows. Forms) I have two panels on a parent panel,
where one is docked top and the second docked client area. They both have
their Visible property = false at design time. On the second panel there are
some buttons, a combobox and a label (these have their Visible property
always set to true). Now at run time, when these panels need to be shown to
the user, their Visible properties are set to true and they show, but not
the child controls on the second panel (so the second panel seems empty).
If i create these controls at run time, even if their direct parent (the
second panel) is invisble, then they show
(when that panel is made visible) ; unfortunatly this is not a comfortable
option (another developer is working on the layout of the GUI and it is so
much easier if he could work with the properties of those controls in the
designer).
I tried making these controls invisible at design time and making them
visible at run time or using BringToFront, but
no succes. I also verified these controls are really on the panel (and not
on the panel's parent).
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance for your comments,

In VS.NET 2003, I get intellisense if I do this:
LiteralControl literalControl = new LiteralControl();
literalControl.ID = "something";
literalControl.Controls.Add.....
And it compiles fine but I get an error saying that the LiteralControl
does not allow child controls.

Hello,
I am writing a control library that has a control that inherits from
System.Web.UI.Control. The control works fine and I am able to loop
through the child controls and display everything fine until I try to
put some ASP.NET processing code in-between the tags.
For example:
This works fine. The control executes and displays everything just

I have tried everything I can think of to change the visible property
of a design time created control from a dynamically created control's
command event handler.
Here is the scenario.
I have a WebForm with some textboxes, dropdownlists, a panel,
imagebutton and so on. When I click on the image button (which was
created at design time) I dynamically build a table. In each of row of
that new table I put several cells and one cell...

Hi,
I've made a collapsible panel custom control. It's pretty simple so far, it
extends the Panel class and renders a bar above itself (panel) to show/hide
the <div> of the panel on the client-side using DHTML. So far it works fine.
I want to be able to make it work server-side as well: only the topbar is
rendered if the panel is to be collapsed and the topbar AND the panel are
rendered if the panel is to be expanded. But when I do...

I have a web form containing a button that when selected adds a user control

button Click event does not fire the first time, only on the second and
successive times.
This problem is caused by the naming of the...

Hello,
I am trying to get a form to draw arrows linking 2 list boxes to each other.
I can write the code to draw the arrows / make them follow the boxes around
when they are dragged around the form, however, the form always draws the
arrow under the child controls.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I would make the arrows draw
over the list boxes, instead of pass under them?
The only idea I had was to call base.onPaint...

i have an app in which i can drop objects onto a form and move them, it
consists of graphics (lines), i am using double buffering to avoid
filckering in the parent control which is a panel, but when i add

there, i move all lines connceted to a control when the control is
moved , at this time flickering occurs, also when i enable double

I've read several articles/blogs/threads about anchoring/docking child
controls in a FlowLayoutPanel. It sounds like it *should* work, but I can't
get it to work for the life of me.
Jon Skeet: I've created a short and complete sample to illustrate the
problem. Beat you to it! :0)
I would really appreciate if anyone could take a look at this and tell me
what the magic trick is to make this work. All I want is to have the child...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
